n February, during the confirmation hearings for President Barack Obama’s nominee for U.S. surgeon general—Vivek Murthy, a British-born Indian American—Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) invited Murthy to his home state.
“I’m going to invite you, because we have a lovely doctor from India,” Roberts said good-naturedly. “She’s in her mid-30s and she’s highly respected by the community. And another doctor from India who did a carpal tunnel when I did a stupid thing. And so, I think you’d be right at home, and we would welcome you.”
Although Roberts probably did not intend to offend (his remarks were of the “I have plenty of friends who are Indian” variety) media outlets generally mocked the interaction. At the very least, it likely reminded Murthy that he is different than the white ethnic majority—some other kind of American.
However harmless it might seem, this is exactly the sort of exchange that makes Asian Americans—the fastest growing ethnic group in the country—more likely to identify themselves as Democrats than Republicans, and by stunning margins. In the 2012 presidential election, Barack Obama won 73 percent of the Asian American vote, exceeding his support among Hispanics (71 percent) and women (55 percent). This striking statistic has caused a great deal of consternation among Republicans, who seem generally mystified as to what they might be doing wrong. It’s a puzzle with huge electoral ramifications. More than 16 million Asian Americans live in the United States today, making up 5 percent of the population and accounting for nearly 4 percent of all voters. They’re a sizeable voting bloc, but one far less understood than other groups, given that their political clout has only begun to emerge.

2 years ago, my sis in law finally became an American citizen and the oath-taking was at a convention center. Right outside was the Dumocrap and GOP tables. The Dums had a “multicultural” table and the GOp had an all-white table for registering voters. Who did you think had the most visitors?
Most minority constituents enjoy being placated and lied to hence the Democrat voter mentality.
Speaking the truth hurts too many feelings.
To me, the real mystery is why Jewish Americans are, for the most part, Democrats.
What’s the breakdown between Asians living in rural areas and those that live in urban areas? I bet most live in urban areas, and like most of any background who do tend to vote more liberal.

The GOP are dinosaurs when it come to things like this.
Socialism and collectivism is in the upbringing, socialization and education of many immigrants - whether Latin America or Asia.
I know many Chinese - and while they all agree that Mao’s era was madness, they still believe that somehow in the hands of better, more educated, stable technocrats, top-down collectivism still is good and necessary. They have no concept of limited government, no concept of Federalism, and no idea what
“subsidiarity” means. To them that means “chaos” - when in fact, the opposite is true.
The present debt fueled, social engineering US Government fits their ideal quite well.
1. Asian culture makes them predisposed toward socialism and corruption which the Democrat Party has in spades.
2. The Republican Party is perceived as the party of White men with guns.
That can be said about the majority of ethnics that vote Democrat.

They’re idiots. At least hire a non-white temp to handle the frontline communications. Image is everything. And they wonder why they lose elections that can be won if handled properly..
Just what might that case be outside of ending healthcare? War in Crimea? Continue exporting jobs? Cutting social security? Bombing Iran? Tax deals for the 99%? Getting government involved in social issues? Add the ones I missed, please.
because Asians come from societies where the individual is nothing, but society and the collective, is exalted. The family has insane power over the individual.
But the aspirations of the individual is nothing.
Like Mexicans, they love being lesser than society and have no model where they controlled the government and had rights like we used to. We struggle to regain it, they’ve never had it.

My wife is Republican and prefers to have her race stated as oriental, since Asian has become to mean Indian or Pakistani.
Most Asians come from socialist/communist countries, it’s no mystery why they vote demoncrap.
