After finding out Rev. Fred Phelps Sr. was on the verge of death many quipped the Westboro Baptist Church, the very organization he founded, would picket his funeral like they have so many others in the past. It might sound like a joke but apparently its the real deal: the WBC will hold a demonstration at the funeral of their former pastor.
Rev. Fred Phelps Sr., the founder of the Westboro Baptist Church, was reportedly excommunicated from the group.
Phelps Sr., 84, began to make headlines over the weekend after his estranged son Nathan posted a note to Facebook where he said the pastor is currently in hospice care and was excommunicated from the organization for reasons that remain unclear. As twisted as it may be, his daughter Margie (who is a part of the WBC) said on Twitter the hate-fueled organization would definitely be at his funeral, if only to picket.
My dad Pastor Fred Phelps is a hell bound f*g enabling whore, she shockingly wrote on Twitter Sunday evening. #Westboro Baptist Church to protest this whores Funeral. Margie had nothing but revulsion to spread in regards to her fathers ailing health. She added he is now a hell bound whore.
Speculation as to why he was excommunicated is rampant on the Internet, with some assuming the WBC members found out Phelps was actually gay and others thinking he might have had a change in heart as his health declined. Theres no definite answer as of now.
Despite Margie and Nathans public statements that reveal Phelps Sr.s passing is imminent, the WBC issued a Recent Media FAQ that denied the former pastor was not doing well. They said Phelps is a person of advanced age, and such people sometimes have health issues. But the organization seemed annoyed at the insinuation that theyre former pastor was near death since its highly speculative and foolish considering that all such matters are the sole prerogative of God. As far as Phelps allegedly being excluded from member ship at the WBC, the organization succinctly replied: Membership issues are private.
A spokesperson for the WBC said Phelps Sr. was in hospice care, but would not remark any further. We don't owe any talk to you about that," Westboro spokesman Steve Drain told the Topeka Capital-Journal. "We don't discuss our internal church dealings with anybody. It's only because of his notoriety that you are asking."
So, the elderly Phelps, who is 84, probably has severe dementia or Alzheimer’s, which his won daughter chooses to call insanity, and in that condition, where he probably no longer even knows who he is, in hospice, he begins playing with himself, and they decide to damn him to hell?
Having had a parent go through Alzheimer’s, and seeing what it can do to a person over a period of a few short years...this women has allowed her anger at the deteriorating condition of her father, turn her to hate...to hate him, and probably, underneath it all, to hate God.
Rather than be able to see it for the condition it probably is, and to show Christ-like compassion to her own father, she chooses to spew the hate she was raised on.
How sickeningly pathetic.
Great story, but the IBT updated it. Apparently somebody got hold of Margie Phelps’ account in order to have some fun.
No, you really can't.
I agree...
In an amazing declaration Michael Quinn reports that Elder Packer told him when he was being interviewed for his positionat Brigham Young University that he has a hard time with historians "because they idolize the truth. The truth is not uplifting:it destroys. I could tell most of the secretaries in the church office building that they are ugly and fat. That would be the truth, but it would hurt and destroy them. Historians should tell only that part of the truth that is inspiring and uplifting."
What a bunch of nut cases.
So, the elderly Phelps, who is 84, probably has severe dementia or Alzheimers,

Yeah kinda like “the elderly Monson, who is 86, probably has severe dementia or Alzheimers”
If Westboro isn’t going to hold his funeral then who will? Who in their right mind will bury that POS?
Even abortion ‘providers’ get buried when they die.
The state will stick him in the ground if it comes to that, but that doesn't answer my question. If Westboro won't hold his funeral then what church will? Are they going to hold his funeral and picket themselves?
There is an example of this:
Luke 18:9-14
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Just like Catholics and Protestants...
-— If I were the devil and I wanted to take the attention off of Christendom, a joke joint like this might be something Id encourage. -—
And where would they be without the media?
-— Just WHERE is that found in Scripture? -—
And must where is that principle found in Scripture?
If I don’t find a mention in Scripture of questionable tax deductions, am I free to take them?
Regardless, assuming your unbiblical principle to be valid, the sin of Onan should cover it.
but Onan was not a homosexual..
and his sin was not masturbation...
Might want to read that Bible scripture again...
Been retracted. It was a hoax
Onan’s sin was refusing to impregnate his brother’s widow
-— but Onan was not a homosexual..
and his sin was not masturbation...
Yes. I’m aware.
So what was his sin?
It was “wasting his seed,” or failing to complete the marital act.
This is immoral for the same reason that feasting and inducing vomitting is immoral. It represents the separation of the pleasurable aspect of a natural act and its natural end, i.e., nutrition, or in the case of Onanism, masturbation, and birth control, reproduction.
Oh Snap!
Ah...
The things one can ‘find’ in the bible after illuminating the penumbra.
