Paranoia leads Vladimir Putin to the point of no return
The Telegraph ^ | 16 Mar 14 | Angus Roxburgh

As Sunday’s referendum, in which the people of Crimea will decide whether to join Russia, approaches, the images on Russian television are astonishing. They are more propagandistic and venomous than anything I can remember even from Soviet times. Breathless presenters whip up hysteria with bloodcurdling stories of atrocities being committed by the “neo-Nazi junta” now governing Ukraine. Overheated “victims” beg Putin to help, kindly Russians offer to give refuge to the terrified people fleeing Ukraine, and menacing music accompanies montages of swastikas, fascist thugs armed with clubs, and black-and-white images of Hitler’s troops and burning villages.

It is all apparently aimed at preparing the public to accept that there may be war, and that Russia will be fighting in a just cause. Yet I have a horrible feeling that President Putin believes all this stuff. He receives his information mainly from his trusted secret services – men like himself, schooled in the dark arts of KGB disinformation. I worked as a media consultant to the Kremlin from 2006 to 2009, close enough to gain a sense of Putin’s growing paranoia.

The error the writer makes is in assuming that what is visible really is how things are. If Putin was dethroned tomorrow, it would make no difference, as the problem is the hidden soviet structures that are in charge in Russia and are infecting the countries of the world.

Putin, even before the eeevil U.S. missile shield, was aiding and abetting every communist/leftist organization on the planet, even paying agents of disinformation who imagined Alex-Jones type conspiracy theories in Spanish speaking news papers. (I’m referring to one of the “spies” busted awhile back; she was ignored, as the focus was on the hot red head at the time. The propagandist got a new job at the Moscow Times, and Alex Jones parrots her views.)

Russia is not our friend, and Putin is not merely reacting to the eeevil Westerners who don’t want to be his friend. He is pursuing long term Soviet goals aimed at, ultimately, uniting east and west under communist terms, and this may conclude with a nuclear exchange at some point, with us on the bad end of it.

What is your point about Alex Jones? He's a communist dupe? And do American leftist groups need any help from Putin? They seem to be doing quite all right - very motivated and very well-funded - on their own. And is Putin promoting "communism" or Russian revivalism, Russian nationalism? It seems to me to be the latter.

Putin is clearly paranoid. Somehow he imagines that the EU is scheming to gain operational control over the Russian gas industry, move NATO directly against the Russian border, spread Homosexuality inside Russia, and organize and fund internal political movements that are friendly to the EU gas and banking schemes.
Clearly he is paranoid./

Yes, the information he displays is not very different from what known agents of Moscow put forward, or what occurs in Moscow controlled media, believe it or not. Jones is not incredibly original.

And do American leftist groups need any help from Putin?

Read books like "I lived Four Lives: Communist, Citizen, Counterspy," and you'll see that soviet involvement in "leftist groups" has always been very heavy, and is still ongoing.

And is Putin promoting "communism" or Russian revivalism, Russian nationalism? It seems to me to be the latter.

There is a different between nationalism and patriotism, the latter being what we have in the United States. The former being the cause between, say, Russian soldiers burning an American flag and saying "We are coming for you!". (There was a video like that during the Georgian war.) Nationalism in Russia is more of the cult of personality method, more Naziish, and everything is controlled by the state, even the other parties; and, I will add, voter participation in Russia is notoriously low, and Putin's rate of winning, and the manner behind it, is notoriously fraudulent.

Follow the money - these world regional conflicts are about central banks maintaining the petrodollar.

Putin is trying to create a Eurasian Union. That's why he gave $15 billion to the Ukraine last fall.

Besides, Russia has existed long before Putin. Russia always has to be concerned about the Ukraine for security.

Putin is clearly paranoid.

You're clearly clueless. We've seen two real, not imaginary, attempts at false flag ops here (Syria and Ukraine) in the last six months and seeing that for what it is isn't paranoia. Somebody in our state department is suffering from paranoia, Putin is not.

You left out that Putin thinks the west is always trying to weaken Russia and was responsible for the break up of the Russian empire.

The simple fact is that Putin is trying to put the empire back together. First Crimea, then the rest of the Ukraine.

The Chinese, on the other hand, are engaged in building a new empire and are systematically building it out to the furthest island chain they can reach.

The American response, in both cases, is encouraging more aggressive behavior. You have to acknowledge the fact that at least Putin and the Chinese have a foreign policy.

We do have a policy, it’s a vacuum of action, with boatload of words. Nice words no doubt, but as effective as words are when they always describe actions never taken.

Except the party of the democrat and obama? Isn't the party of the democrat a communist/leftist organization?

Yes, Obama plans to make peace simply through the strength of his personality. He is a delusional narcissist surrounded by like minded people. The result will be disasterous.
