A British man convicted of plotting an Al-Qaeda plane bombing told a New York court yesterday about a separate 2001 plan for a Malaysian pilot to blast his way into a jet’s cockpit.
Saajid Badat, who was sentenced in 2005 to 13 years in jail as a co-conspirator in a notorious December 2001 plot to bomb US airliners, has testified about the Malaysian plan before.

Badat told US prosecutors at the trial of Osama bin Laden’s son-in-law on Tuesday that he was given two shoe bombs, one which he took to Britain and the other which he gave to a Malaysian cell.
He believed one bomb was enough to bring down a jet, he told the trial by video link from Britain, but the bomb he gave the Malaysian was intended simply to help him breach a cockpit door.
Badat said he travelled from Afghanistan to Pakistan in December 2001 with Reid, some Malaysians and a Mauritanian family.
He described the Malaysians as ‘their own group of four to five individuals including a pilot’.
‘I gave one of my shoes to the Malaysians. I think it was to access the cockpit,’ he told the court.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-declared 9/11 plotter now held at Guantanamo Bay, helped concoct the shoe-bomb plot and spoke of having plans for the Malaysians, Badat said.
He said Mohammed kept a list of the world’s tallest buildings and crossed out New York’s Twin Towers after the September 11, 2001 attacks by hijacked airliners as ‘a joke to make us laugh’.
Badat told the court he believed the Malaysians, including the pilot, were ‘ready to perform an act’.
During the meeting, the possibility was raised that the cockpit door might be locked. ‘So I said, “How about I give you one of my bombs to open a cockpit door?”’ Badat told the court.

According to ABC News the shift to the left was “Preprogrammed” so most likely one of the pilots did that
weird....they did not keep flying straight to hit land structures and people, instead flew over the ocean.... if hi jacked for a later attack....well it will take years before a 777 is looked at without suspicion in the event this one is not found. Hope they have a heck of a lot of patience.
If terrorists exposed the passengers to something awful, why not? Then they take off with whatever they wanted on the plane.
I know it's a crazy thought....no crazier than a plane just disappearing for this long, though.

I am still just completely floored by the fact that someone paid almost 300 million bucks for an airplane and it doesn’t even have a tracking mechanism on it. Didn’t anyone learn a lesson about transponders on 9/11? I mean, cheap semi tractors have better tracking mechanisms installed by their owners than this passenger jet.
Got a bad feeling about this. Like, that plane is parked somewhere, waiting.
Passengers are dead. Killed by taking the plane up to 4500 ft.

What is the lesson here? Don’t get on a plane with a muzzie pilot.
Plane takes off and flies for an hour. Pilot then shuts off the communications and turns to the West and flies up to 40-45000ft. This will kill everyone not in the cockpit. Plane comes back down to a lower elevation to regain control etc. Goes back up to 29,000 ft and avoids radar as much as possible while heading to the Indian Ocean.
Pilot then flies to a pre-determined spot in the Indian ocean that is shallow but deep enough to fully submerge the airplane. Maybe 100 feet or so. The pilot ditches the airplane. There is a salvage ship standing by to rescue the pilot and help quickly sink the airplane.
The ship maneuvers over the airplane to help cover it. The first thing they do is dive down and remove the “black boxes” and destroy then. This is so no transmissions are made. This is going on while everyone is searching the South China Sea. After the black boxes are removed they dive
Down and open the cargo bins and remove what they are after. Could be gold, gems or maybe something to make a nuclear device. Heck even the so called nuclear suitcase.
That is my story and I am sticking to it.
