Framing the Mississippi Senate primary as a "clear fight for the future of the Republican Party against the entrenched interests of the permanent political class in D.C.," former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin endorsed conservative Mississippi state Senator Chris McDaniel on Thursday in his upstart bid against six-term incumbent Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran, who admitted that he was unfamiliar with the Tea Party movement that has put the Washington establishment on alert.
"The Mississippi Senate race is a clear fight for the future of the Republican Party against the entrenched interests of the permanent political class in D.C. We desperately need new conservative leaders in the U.S. Senate who will serve with passion, intelligence, and integrity."
UPDATE: McDaniel told Breitbart News that Palin's endorsement will help him and his campaign "end the rule of the permanent political class in Washington, D.C.":
"Governor Sarah Palin's endorsement is very important in the state of Mississippi. We Mississippians are conservatives, and we share Sarah Palin’s passion for limited government, lower taxes, traditional values, and constitutional liberties. This is a grassroots movement driven by the people of Mississippi, so there's no question Gov. Palin's endorsement will help motivate people to get behind this campaign to end the rule of the permanent political class in Washington, D.C."

McDaniel appears to me to be one of the BEST conservative challengers (much better than Steve Stockman/Lee Bright/Matt Bevin) exc.
Without evidence I'm calling BS, fearmonging from Cochran's camp. Travis Childers gonna win in Mississippi in 2014? No.
Lemme guess, he was also part of the Senate fairy choir?
She has a pretty solid record with her endorsements.
I think that Childers, for one, thinks that he might be able to win by getting the 43% that Democrats can count on in statewide races (the state is 37% black, and its electorate in a midterm will be like 32%-35% black) and add another 7% from sour-grapes Cochran supporters. As a candidate, Childers is quite similar to Indiana’s Donnely, with both pretending to be conservative and being able to win House seats in conservative turf (although Donnely IN-02 was far less conservative than Childers’s MI-01, which is why Donnely survived 2010 and Childres didn’t). That being said, we can’t get blackmailed into supporting a RINO by disloyal so-called Republicans. That’s why we need to redouble our efforts in favor of McDaniel, and challenge all MS Republicans to pledge to support the winner of the primary against the RAT Childers. That means that McDaniel supporters need to make that vow as well, and I’ll be the first to call them morons if they don’t support Cochran (if, God forbid, he wins the primary) over Childers—not only would Childers vote far more liberal than Cochran, he might serve for a long time, while Cochran will be done if not in this primary (as I hope) then at the end of the next term. (But if conservative Republican Bill Marcy—running as a Democrat as a “Plan B” in case Cochran beats McDaniel, somehow wins the Dem primary, then all bets are off and I would support Marcy, knowing that he’d caucus with the Republicans and vote much more conservative than does Cochran.)
Anyone is better than a demoncrap! I would crawl over cut glass to vote for a Republican this time, any Republican.
Our high standards and tantrums have given us a Democrat Senate and the beast as head. If we don’t support Republicans, we’re supporting Democrats plain and simple.
There is no other way to see it.

Not what I particularly want to happen but what I think the GOPe wants to happen. Cochran wins primary and general. Cochran is old and decides to retire. Gov. Bryant appoints a Republican to fill his chair until there has to be an election to fill his term. I think Cochran is so entrenched this will happen.
Another issue is Gene Taylor posing as a conservative and challenging Steve Pallazo in MS4. I have lived in this district over 32 years and watched Gene. He has always been a Democrat and caucused with them. He had the opportunity to switch to Republican long ago and chose not to.
I think Steve Palazzo is doing a great job representing the interests of the MS coast and will always caucus with the GOP.
You gotta pick your poison, guy, that's just the way it is. No matter how these communist creeps got in, they're in and they're destroying America. So if I can buy time and even slow down the assault, I'll do it.
Yes, Republican all the way unless you have some better course of action that will get these tyrants out of office. Because taking a stand and not voting if the Republican doesn't measure up IS A VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT!!
Furthermore, it's selfish. People who let the Democrats in so they can say they haven't compromised their principles are hypocrites. Those who stand by and do nothing to stop the evil are perpetuating the evil. None of us have the luxury of standing on the sidelines and claiming victory.

See, there’s your problem. You don’t drink poison. I don’t. I don’t play the R vs D games, because that’s far too simplistic. We could get rid of every Democrat in office tomorrow and that wouldn’t solve the problem. Getting rid of the left, the political establishment, the corrupt, the liars, the cowards. That is what needs to be done to begin to get rid of the problem. There’s too many in the GOP engaged in identical behavior to the Democrats.
I vote and support Conservatives (those in word and in deed). That’s the only way to go. The GOP is merely a vehicle, but if those driving it make it into a Clown Car, they can take a plunge off a cliff. McConnell, Boehner, et al, it’s impossible to ignore their big red noses.
I also support conservatives, active in the Tea Party but I’m not naive enough to think there’s zero difference between a RINO and Dem, there’s a huge difference.
We win what we can but I won’t desert America if it doesn’t all go my way.
Oh, not really zero difference. RINOs inflict damage far worse than Democrats. They not only destroy the GOP/Conservative agenda from within, they enact the Democrat agenda and the Democrats get all the rewards. Democrats can’t do ALL of that. In fact, most Democrat “successes” can be laid almost entirely at the feet of RINOs.
Can’t argue that when they have something to gain but hopefully, if Republicans have the majority, RINOs will try to play that card instead. It’s not about their beliefs or character, it’s about putting their own interests first.
But the Democrats are the ones who have actively attacked the Constitution, imposed communist legislation, and want to take it all the way to the end, want us to be mere subjects to their will.
I don’t like RINOs, they’re horrible to be sure but you’d have to be blind to think Democrats aren’t worse. And if they get any kind of majority again, stick a fork in us cause we’re done.
I’ve already stated how RINOs are worse. I don’t come to that conclusion lightly, but from having studied politics and politicians for virtually my entire adult life. This isn’t a recent thing, either. This has been going on for a century.
Want one of the worst examples ? Herbert Hoover. A Wilsonian Progressive Democrat who left that party only because he knew (in 1920) that there’d be no political future in the short run. Rather than follow the highly successful small government model of Harding-Coolidge, he went the progressive route of interference and paved the way for FDR (who ironically ran to Hoover’s RIGHT in 1932). There would’ve been no prolonged Depression and no FDR Presidency had a Conservative been elected in 1928.
Want another ? Wilson himself would never have been elected in 1912 had the RINO Theodore Roosevelt not deliberately split the GOP in his obsessive desire to reclaim the Presidency.
Democrats have so much of their successes thanks almost entirely to RINOs. They wouldn’t get their foot in the door without them. McCain, Willard... you think an unapologetic Conservative opponent to Zero would’ve let him get away ? McCain was practically his campaign manager, “You have nothing to fear from a (Zero) Presidency.” What a lie. We have everything to fear, and that giant phony (who was an inch away from switching to the Democrats in 2004 to run with his good buddy John Kerry) did more to aid the Democrat cause than any open Democrat.
Wake up, Kenny. The enemy is already inside our gates. Exposing them and destroying them is paramount.
I’m trying to expose and dispose of them but we are under attack from Democrats. Everything you say about RINOs is true and I want them out too, (especially McCain) but I don’t want to throw out the baby with the bath water.
The primaries are our best hope and God knows I’m praying for Tea Party candidates but if we don’t succeed I will not vote for a Democrat neither passively nor aggressively. As I said, maybe I’m only buying time but it’s better than surrender.

They (All RINO’s) have to be receiving tons of these donation requests signed just like yours. I know I’ve sent all of mine back with the exact same sentiments.

The enemy is the left. A leftist plant serving the Democrat agenda running as a Republican is neither our friend nor ally. If you’re voting for a RINO in the general, the Democrats and their agenda have already won. You can’t really justify to yourself that you’re “stopping” the Democrats when they’ve got theirs inside our gates claiming to be “one of us” when they’re not.
I’ve heard lots of people complain about Palazzo.
But Taylor, of course, is no alternative. He can go straight to hell. He missed his window to be welcomed into the GOP.
Your bitterness aside, there is a ZERO.ZERO % chance that Cornyn loses in November. That is not even a race.
Too bad he was renominated but he won by default because Stockman was a crappy and weak challenger. We need to do better than the likes of him if we expect to beat some of these Senators. McDaniel is an example of a strong challenger.
