It's a building of dignity and honor, but what happened at the state capitol recently has law enforcement crying shame.
"Everybody in that building knew who we were," said Wagoner county sheriff Bob Colbert, who, along with 40 other sheriffs from around the state, converged on the capitol as they do every year to meet and greet and lobby. Until...
"One of the senators, who they wouldn't tell us, complained because we were armed in the building," he said.
They were then given a choice, disarm or there's the door.
"So we all packed up and left," he said.
Colbert doesn't know for sure which senator complained, but has his own complaints about the complainer.
"We're the people that protect these people," he said.

This is a good thing. The pols don’t even trust the cops anymore. They shouldn’t. They’ve earned the right to be afraid for their lives.
There are only 12 Dim Senators in the OK State Senate.

About 12 too many.....
Or pet BowWow.
Yes.
The dogs are hardcore criminals, addicted to nylabone and snausages.
Then they join canine gangs, so obviously law enforcement must execute every dog they see.
Otherwise there’d be a dog uprising crime wave!
Then there’s the high capacity assault chihuahuas!
/ bad attempt at joke.
Yes, I did neglect to mention that.
Kinda glad I don’t have a dog anymore, deprives jackboots of one more “feel good” action they can do should they feel the need to bless me with their attention.
IT REALLY SUCKS WHEN COPS ARE TREATED LIKE LOWLY REGULAR PEON CITIZENS, EH???
/no sympathy
Freaking dittos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t think they would be having any feel good moment if they shot one of our dogs without really good cause. They might need to bring out their Bradley to shut me down.
Regrettably LEOs have lost much of their “citizen good will” due to such actions as unwarranted dog shooting, SWAT and No Knock. But yes, there are many good Law Enforcement, just a lot smaller percentage than the day.
Exceedingly small percentage these days.
And anyone who says anything finds out the thin blue line has a wall of silence and shunning.
Show it and walk in Round the metal detectors. Pretty slick, actually.
No name of this brave senator?
Why not?
Make your constituents proud Senator!
Find out who that Senator was, and campaign to have them impeached for abrogation of the 2nd amendment.
The feds always wanted us to disarm when going into federal court. I didn’t feel that the 200 pound, old geezers reading the paper at the doorway were up to the job of protecting everyone there prosecuting the Colombians or whatever other gang member we were trying, so I would give up my holster weapon and forget I had on my boot weapon.
Courthouse are just ripe for some nut job or worse to walk in and take out the two mindless security guys (usually older semi-retired guards) and wreak havoc. No better than a school.
“In Texas, weve got a fast lane into the Capitol for CCers.”
As does VA. But we can also Open Carry.
“They should defect to Texas!”
