Interesting theory. May not have been the jet, but the people on the jet that were the real targets. Anything is possible at this point.
I work around senior management in technology every day. The best any terrorist kidnapper is going to get out of them would be some new org charts, power point slide decks and lots of pointless meetings. Most can't even spell the products their companies make. Oh, and they will teach the terrorists how to line their pockets by having the company borrow money to pay dividends every quarter. You want to break the back of international terrorism...? Send them lots of US tech executives.

I have posted in related threads that someone Tweeted soon after news of the plane being ‘lost’ that it had landed in the south part of Vietnam.
Considering that the officials and media have claimed debris fields in several opposing directions and different mileages, that the plane may have been taken over and landed in some remote locations seems as valid as the other claims.
