My friend lives out in the country, and he has a neighbor who always puts out bird seed and corn so the deer can feed off of it. One day a half-dozen of them or so came up to his patio and started becoming aggressive when there was no food there and caused damage to his door and yard.
There is something else going on here. Dementia maybe?
At first read, yes, it does sound very petty, very Bloombergish, but think about why this is happening. If she attracts bears in that area, the bears may get over their fear of people and then start attacking folks or destroying their property. It’s sad that she wouldn’t listen and abide by the Judge’s reasonable conditions. Second best would be if she could move in with someone near, but not too near that area of bear habitation. Some seniors will pick a particular thing and double or ‘triple down’ on NOT CHANGING or doing things their way without regard to the results, or effects on their health.
She has a history of being warned and cited and continued to violate the warnings.
She's a crazy old bat so throw her in jail and feed her nothing but wonder bread and water........
Feeding bears isn’t a good thing but I throw bread, suet and leftovers out for the crows, ravens and magpies every day.
I live in Sebring FL and know this family. The lady has significant dementia. She does not belong in jail
Article doesn’t say where this is but at my wife’s family cabin in Cloudcroft NM you have to keep trash inside until you take it to the community bear-proof bins. Attracting bears to the residential area puts neighbors and their pets in danger. It sounds like this lady is mentally not there and a nursing home would probably be better than prison but her actions put her neighbors at risk and needed to be stopped.
Why, she’s almost a bird based supervillain!
We will not be safe until she is in prison.
