Sen. Rand Paul continued his aggressive brush back of comments from his usual ally Sen. Ted Cruz suggesting that Paul is positioned at the left, dovish flank of the GOP on foreign policy, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity Cruz was mischaracterizing his views.
We always have been good friends. I'm not real excited about him mischaracterizing my views. I won't let that pass. I think that sometimes want to stand up and say hey, look at me, I'm the next Ronald Reagan. Well, almost all of us in the party are big fans of Ronald Reagan, Paul said.
I've always been a big fan of peace through strength. I think America should and has a responsibility around the world and really, virtually all of the opinions that have been coming from Republicans are somewhat the same on this that Putin should be condemned, he should be isolated. I favor sanctions on Putin. So, for people to characterize that as somehow not being the Reagan position, I think they need to have a re-reading of Reagan, frankly, Paul added.

Exactly.
Can you explain this comment?
I honestly don’t get your connecting Cruz with McLame McRino
Why do you say that? He may not be a perfect conservative, but don’t confuse him with his father, who was libertarian to the marrow. Rand definitely stands between his father and Reagan. The more issues that pass, the closer to Reagan he stands.
Give the guy some credit for trying to fight a massive majority (the Dims and the GOPe) pretty much on his own.
KEEP POSTING
RAND PAUL CANNOT BE TRUSTED ON IMMIGRATION
i.e. does not know the definition of DEPORT
The meanings of the words are twisted beyond recognition now, as most of these arguments tend to show.
They use the same words but not the same meanings and argue about it.
The marxists are masters at getting their opponents to divide themselves this way, which shows marxism's true author.

Sen. Ted Cruz also supports temporary legalization status in the immigration bill Posted on Jun 12, 2013
By The Right Scoop
Sen. Ted Cruz introduced an amendment to the current immigration bill back in May that would have removed the path to citizenship from the bill completely. But it also supported the same temporary legal status (RPI status) that is already in the bill that Sen. Marco Rubio has been discussing. And even more than that, it also supported permanent legal residency status as well.
Now if you happen to believe that temp legal status is amnesty, as some of you have suggested, then I guess that means Ted Cruz supports amnesty.

You've mischaracterized his plan and left out salient bits of information.
Like Ted Cruz' amnesty plan, the Rand Paul plan did not make anyone into a citizen. Rand's amendments included several measures to purge the voter rolls of all non-Americans. Under the proposed Rand Paul plan there would be fewer Democrat voters than today, not more.
That was one of the main points of his series of amendments - to call the Democrats' bluff and force them to openly defend their illegal activities in this area.
Sorry to inject others into the discussion about Rand and Ted but I wanted to make the case that there are much better people out there to lead this nation than Rand Paul.
No more calls; we have a winner!

100%?
You dont say...
I guess some people are holding out for a candidate who gets 110%.
Has Cruz even mentioned that issue?
Yeah... Sort of...

WE NEED TERM LIMITS!
I have no idea what you mean by "a stand alone libertarian." The very concept seems a denial of the American experience. The Founders came together in a spirit of mutual respect. They had different social values, but they respected each other, and sought to work together to help each other preserve a constructive, liberty based heritage.
While this meant different things in Virginia than in Massachusetts or New York. it was not about "standing alone."
Finally, while I am a Jeffersonian, not a Hamiltonian, I will certainly defend Hamilton against the accusation that he would be a "moderate democrat," today. Hamilton did not so much like big government. His support for more Federal power than that acceptable to the Jeffersonians was more as a protection against local populist movements. Didn't Madison, Jefferson's most important ally, also see the Federal Government's prime role as a check on "Democracy?" (i.e. on "Mob Rule," as discussed in Federalist Paper #10)? There is no way that this would equate with a party that insists on voting Welfare recipients, etc..

Not to be too simplistic, but ancient patterns for evil keep repeating.

OnTheIssues.org is a nonpartisan organization that tracks candidates voting record and their answers to questionnaires etc, and rate them based only on the facts.
Not opinions, just the facts about their record.
They list him solidly in the Liberaltarian column.
You can go to the site and see it yourself, all the way at the bottom of the page.
You can also check every other House/Senate/POTUS candidate.
They also have McCain listed as a “moderate conservative”.
The ACU, that rates CONSERVATIVES, gives Rand a higher CONSERVATIVE rating than McCain.
Good grief....
