Ok, Crimea’s parliament voted in favor of returning the to Russian union, people in Russia are holding massive demonstrations in favor of Crimea returning, massive demonstrations in Crimea supporting the vote -
why is the US exercised over this issue?

Right. Maybe I'm not reading this correctly, but it sounds to me like many (most?) of the people in Crimea don't want to remain in Ukraine.

How is this any different than what happened when Czechoslovakia was divided into its two "natural" ethnic regions, or when Yugoslavia broke up into several sovereign states?

It’s a distraction from the TSA purchasing 1,980 sticks of dynamite?

Mr. SKerry should shut up already and stop digging, when he’s at the bottom of the pit.

Serious question...a few years from now when much of the Southwestern US is majority Mexican, various state legislatures controlled by Mexicans vote to return to Mexico, people in Mexico holding massive demonstrations in favor of SW states returning, massive demonstrations in SW states supporting the vote....Should the rest of the US be exercised over the issue?

Crimea is “gone?” When did WE ever have it?

Why is the US so worked up over this? Benghazi is no big deal, but let Russia take back territory they controlled for several hundred years and all he’ll breaks out.

I feel their is no reason to oppose Crimea returning to Russian sovereignty . Especially if it is fair and equitale to those who don’t want and choose to leave. Help them to relocate , give them fair value for their property . This could become a new standard for compassionate and mindful partition ; which could and should happen in many other places in this world.

This was not how his “investment” in Ukraine politics is supposed to go down. But...the fat lady hasn’t sung yet

My feelings exactly. And don't forget that Crimea only became an "autonomous region" of Ukraine due to an arbitrary stroke of the pen by Kruschev sixty years ago, when the difference was meaningless.

This is bringing out my inner conspiracy freak. There's something sinister going on, I fear.

We’re worked up about this because it looks a lot like the start of WWII. Also looks a lot like what many hope/fear for “Azltan”. Also looks a lot like Putin isn’t going to stop with Crimea, and that a lot of other despots are liking the idea.

Basically, WWIII just started.
