The media made a huge deal about Dan Quayle, what a dunce he was, etc.
I predict the media and comedians will not be all over Obama on this. They think he is the most brilliant man ever to be president, so the mmisspelling, of course, was someone else’s fault

If Zer0 was a Republican, this would be the lead story on every one of the alphabet networks, New York Times, etc. Since he’s the Omnissiah, though, it’ll go straight down the memory hole.
Quayle had been relying on the cue card provided him BY THE SCHOOL whose spelling bee he was judging —he didn’t want to embarrass them. He was being CLASSY.
The two situations are totally different.
Remember when Bush senior looked at a grocery scanner and “was amazed”? It was a lie —they’d been demonstrating to him that EVEN IF THE BAR CODE WAS TORN UP there was an algorithm that would unscramble it and make it good.
THEY LIED.
Plus I think Quayle’s spelling of “potatoe” is an acceptable alternate spelling?
Spelling is racist.
My recollection is that Quayle did not misspell anything, nor did he think that the U.S. was comprised of 57 states. The only mistake Quayle was guilty of was being a Republican.
Quayle was given the mis-spelling by a teacher. And yes, "potatoe" was the old English spelling of the word.
Also The Won mis-spelled Syracuse when filling out brackets.
Great minds...
Nobody outside Fox or FR will even know. The media butt-kissers will do anything to protect their God. But the same commies were out to destroy Quayle over the smallest thing. Just like they did when they twisted Bush 1’s remark about supermarket scanners or Palin’s entirely fictitious remark about seeing Russia from her house. The MSM are purely evil people.
In contrast George W. Bush's arguable mispronunciation of nuclear is one that I've heard frequently from all manner of well-spoken, articulate men, including my very wise coC preacher who hails from out in the western part of Texas.
Growing up in Indiana in the 50s, I too was taught the now archaic spelling of potato as potatoe.
“Also The Won mis-spelled Syracuse when filling out brackets. “
Yup. This imbecile spelled it “sycacuse”.
Exactly right. The media decided from day one that he was a buffoon and apoor choice for Bush Sr. Running mate.

Under the Core Curriculum the Brown Clown gets an A because he was close to the correct answer.BTW, He is STILL an A$$HAT
Misspell the word Potato? Hell brought down on you if you are a republican.
In contrast George W. Bush’s arguable mispronunciation of nuclear
He pronounces it the same way as Former President Carter, a former nuclear engineer.
I figured he spelled it, with a lithp;
R-E-Eth-P-E-Thee-T
Zero gets no “rspect” because he doesn’t deserve any.
Great minds indeed:
The way they did it was pretty sly —a low, medium shot with Bush Senior and the archetypal grocery checker behind the checkout counter, with CEO types behind, smiling.
It was down low enough from a child-customer’s perspective, so the audience would have no idea the bar-code was torn pretty badly:
The checker appears to slide a totally unremarkable pacakge of baloney or whatever across the scanner platen, and the TV audience hears the familiar, “Beep!” indicating a successful product scan, and “we” see the proper price displayed.
And Bush, surprised, exclaims something like, “Wow...!” and he’s all happy.
And yes, if the TV executive were really, really dishonest (which means ANY TV executive) any reasonable viewer would absolutely be disgusted and view Bush Senior as stupid or elitist, or both of those.
And I mean, I don’t really even like Bush Senior, really.
But it was all a really slick LIE.
