Well, Oscar voters proved how liberal they were, . 12 Years A Slave won best picture..
Yes, because we needed yet another movie to tell us that slavery was bad.
A friendly word of advice...
Rather than link to such sources as indicated above, and plug the Oscars, just submit your own thread regarding the winners and include your viewpoint. Thank you.
Yes, because no one knew that before this movie. Perhaps schools will now discuss slavery in a history class or something.
Yes, to liberals, we have never learned any lessons from history. We need liberal Hollywood idiots to lecture us about our history. (Saecasm)
Not only that it was bad, but that America-and especially white people-should be ashamed. The way Hollywood acts (pun intended), you’d think we believed in it.
Just saw one of the nominated movies; Gravity...
Saw the part where Sandra Bullock’s character got out of the spacesuit...don’t remember much after that...
Has anyone watched Gravity? I don’t know whether or not the film and/or the actors won any Oscars, but that movies hype was greatly exaggerated.
Read my last post. :^)
Gravity got several Oscars - one for beat sound. That made me laugh as most sounds were Bullock breathing loud in & out as with using a scuba tank.
beat = best
I didn’t see any of the movies nominated..didn’t really care for any of them so could have cared less who won best picture..the only highlight of the night was seeing Matthew McConaughey thank God during his acceptance speech and hear nothing but silence from the audience..that is all I needed to know about the douche bags in the audience..nothing but liberal douches
That gal is pushing 50 and still looks like a million bucks. She looked even better in "The Blind Side." I think she made a midnight crossroads deal with the Devil or something. Whoooo. Fine.
Yes, and, like the force of nature it was named for, it sucked!
Seriously, can anyone here in Freeper land explain in cogent terms why such a large percentage of the American public feels the need to waste 3 or more hours of their life to watch a bunch of "the beautiful people" get together for their annual group pat-on-the-back telling US how great they are?
I find the whole thing silly, if not downright repugnant that these people, who memorize and read lines written for them, moving around on special areas as directed like trained monkeys, should be so lauded, lionized and "loved". And, just to make it even more silly, with very few exceptions, they see their "adoring fans" like so much vermin in private, all the while living their "beautiful lives" thanks to the hard-earned dollars that the public shells out to see the drivel that passes for "Entertainment" these days.
Cynical? HELL YES! And I haven't even gotten into what happens when these trained apes are asked to form a personal opinion on something important like war, poverty or even something as made-up as "Glo-bull Warming".
I saw Gravity. The special effects were impressive, and it was the best use of 3 D I’ve seen. But the actors weren’t nearly as impressive as the hype led me to believe they would be.
I’m happy to say that I haven’t watched the oScars in ten+ years.
It was boring for some reason.
Dunno
Maybe Ellen got some memo to be reserved.
I think the attendees did as well.
I could barely keep my eyes one day it was so boring.
Second it closed everybody just kinda went home.
I know I grabbed my briefcase and split.
Working on something important but, thought the.Oscars would be interesting.
Back to my rock and my two hills, like Sisyphus.
