The chorus of international voices urging caution in Ukraine, and above all urging Russia to refrain from military action, have been reinforced by NATO’s secretary general.
“Russia must stop its military activities and its threats. We support Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. We support the rights of the people of Ukraine to determine their own future without outside interference and we emphasise the need for Ukraine to continue to uphold the democratic rights of all people and ensure that minority rights are protected,” said Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
An overnight phone call between Presidents Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin has reportedly only served to underline fundamental differences of position.
This was reflected as well in an emergency session of the UN Security Council, where Russia maintained it was acting to protect its citizens despite the lack of evidence of any tangible threat. And remember, Russia may be talking to its international partners, but refuses direct talks with Kyiv.
Not with this President.
NATO wants a similar scenario not to repeat in the Balt states, which are members and have restless Russian minorities. NATO also does not want the diplomatic guarantees given by Merkel and other member states to Ukraine, to be disrespected. NATO, finally, views with concern gradual involvement of Poland in this conflict. Remember that Poland (a NATO member), too, has polish minorities to protect within Ukraine.
OR WHAT?
What? Your picture does not show. Can you use words like the rest of us?
The Bandera freedom fighters are rightly known as Ukrainian patriots and heroes. Calling everyone you don't like "nazi" is juvenile leftism.
See my #3 and #12, and perhaps, read the entire thread? It is not that long.

Missing something here due to my own lack of knowledge. I understand Soros was somehow involved in the current events (destabilzation) in the Ukraine. 0 basically told Putin to back off in a 90 minute call. Now NATO steps up to the plate and asks Putin to back off too. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the political significance can explain what is really amiss....
We aren’t going to send in troops, that would be stupid. The time to look tough and intimidating is before the enemy makes a move, not after.
Preening and parading now is about as useful as a blind man at an art exhibit

Stepan Bandera was responsible for the proclamation of an Independent Ukrainian State in Lviv on June 30, 1941, eight days after Germany's attack against the USSR. The OUN intended to take advantage of the retreat of Soviet forces from Ukraine. Some members thought that they had found a new powerful ally in Nazi Germany to aid them in their struggle against the Soviet Union. However, just days after the proclamation and the Nazi invasion of Lviv, the leadership of the newly formed government was arrested and sent to concentration camps in Germany, and on July 6, 1941[1] for his refusal to rescind the declaration, Bandera was arrested and imprisoned by the Nazis and not released until September 1944. Also, within two years of the declaration, the Nazis had imprisoned or killed 80% of OUN-B leadership.[2][3][4] Soviet authorities authorised the KGB to assassinate Bandera in Munich, West Germany, on 15 October 1959.
The Lviv pogroms were two massacres of Jews living in and near in the city of Lwów, the occupied Poland (now Lviv, Ukraine), that took place from 30 June to 2 July and 2529 July 1941 during World War II. According to Yad Vashem, 60,000 Jews were killed by Einsatzgruppen, some Ukrainian nationalists and Ukrainian militia
So, Bandera proclaims his militia and in the few days he was free he uses the time wisely to massacre the Jews. Make sense to you?
Ukrainian nationalism did not include antisemitism as a core aspect of its program and saw Russians as well as Poles as the chief enemy with Jews playing a secondary role.[37] Nevertheless, Ukrainian nationalism was not immune to the influence of the antisemitic climate in the Eastern and Central Europe,[37] had already become highly racialized in the late 19th century, and had developed an elaborate anti-Jewish discourse.[38] However, Ukrainian nationalistic Jews were welcome in the Banderivtsy, provided their adoption of the identity of the Galician Karaites, who were regarded as loyal compatriots.[39]Wikipedia

“I like this man....I really do.”
It is a funny feeling for a lot of us old goats, who spent our youth and beyond in a Cold War against the USSR.
Now Herr Obozo and his thugs in DC appear to many of us to be more of a danger to our country/our families than Vlad.
The topic is NATO vis-a-vis the invasion of Ukraine, not what problems you have.
Very true, but It doesn't mean the history is going to stop and wait till we get a pebble out of our shoe.
Or what, NATO??
NATO is talking about retreating from Afghanistan, retreating from Iraq, leaving Israel alone to face the terrorists...why the HELL would anyone trust Obama, Hitlery, Lurch, or ANY of their boobs in the NATO alliance?
Why?
They’ve become cheese eating surrender monkeys. They abandon reasonable Arabs and Muslims (Mubarak in Egypt, Karzai in Afghanistan and the Iraqi government that was voted on and succeeded Saddam) and HOOK UP WITH TERRORISTS like Hamas, the Syrian rebels affiliated with Al-Qaeda, and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt...AND they give a green light to the Iranian mullahs to go ahead and make nukes!!!!!
So, tell me, WHY would anyone listen to Team Obama and believe them?
Answer: they wouldn’t.
See my #82. It is a European crisis that poses existential threats to NATO member states, unlike all these wars we’d like them to fight in Africa and the Middle East
NATO wants a similar scenario not to repeat in the Balt states, which are members and have restless Russian minorities.
Doesn’t matter what we do. No European country is willing to fight the Russians. They are all happy to fight to the last GI and that’s it. No country has built the required nuke plants to counter Russian gas dominance.
We will know Europe is serious about the Russian threat when they start building a bunch of nuclear plants. Belarus is building a huge nuke plant right across the border from Vilnius! Lithuania’s response was nothing but a greenie protest. They shut down their only nuke plant and allowed the pinkos to delay any new plant. How smart does that look now?
The greenie/pinkos have totally paralyzed central and eastern europe and left them exposed to Russian bullying. Putin will keep Crimea and continue to destablize Ukraine. That will be the end of it. Nothing else will happen for now.
I think the Poles might disagree with that statement.
