The chorus of international voices urging caution in Ukraine, and above all urging Russia to refrain from military action, have been reinforced by NATO’s secretary general.
“Russia must stop its military activities and its threats. We support Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. We support the rights of the people of Ukraine to determine their own future without outside interference and we emphasise the need for Ukraine to continue to uphold the democratic rights of all people and ensure that minority rights are protected,” said Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
An overnight phone call between Presidents Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin has reportedly only served to underline fundamental differences of position.
This was reflected as well in an emergency session of the UN Security Council, where Russia maintained it was acting to protect its citizens despite the lack of evidence of any tangible threat. And remember, Russia may be talking to its international partners, but refuses direct talks with Kyiv.
Right. Note that Stepan Bandera was in Nazi prison at the time and likely would have disapproved of them if he could exercise control of OUN-B at the time.
There is no denying that OUN — both fractions — saw Poland and the Soviet Union as main enemy, were willing to collaborate with the Nazis when they saw it in the Ukrainian national interest, and committed atrocities and ethnic cleansing like virtually any other participant in the German-Soviet War of 1941-45.
Similarly, the Sovs collaborated with the Nazis when it gave then an opportunity to invade Poland and the Balt states, burned their own villages in retreat, condemning them to death of starvation, massacred an untold number of Poles and Balts, raped their way through Germany, deported whole nations to Siberia and enslaved the Eastern Europe for 40 years. In doing so they did no favors to their own titular Russian nation which still bears the scars of the Soviet Power. So your point was?
I repeat, it is extremely noble of Poland to support Ukrainian Nationalists in their desire to build independent Ukraine, despite the history between the two nations that you point out.
Our military is a rock. Take that to the bank. I was once a steely eyed killer of the deep and I garuntee the kids that replaced me are as good or better than I was. May god bless our armed forces.

A harsh letter will be issued.
He can be charming in a prison oldtimer sort of way.
Lithuania plans to finish their LNG terminal by the end of this year. Estonia and Finland just announced two days ago of building their own ones and joining them with undersea pipeline.
vhelcles in the video are KTO Rosomaks, an IFV w/ a 30mm cannon in the turret.
Obama tells Putin if you like Ukraine you can keep Ukraine
If anyone thinks Putin is afraid of Obama, you’d better think again. He KNOWS Obama is a tin soldier and will not fight. Obama is a homosexual lover, not a man, fighter, warrior. He hides behind his wife’s mile-wide butt.
My point was a simple one....that the civilized world should never be surprised when the Russian leadership engages in savagery.
At home *or* abroad.
This is not a thread about Obama. It is a thread about the NATO’s possible reaction; I think everyone, including NATO leadership, understands that Obama’s contribution in this crisis was to make it worse.
Indeed. We shouldn’t, for example, expect the Russian Federation to respect the treaties it itself negotiated. They are a rogue state.
Lots of good material in there, Mr. Head — but here’s the problem. From your earlier post:
>>>>> Putin knew that Bush meant what he said. <<<<<
It is a mortal impossibility to achieve that with the pillow-biter currently occupying the white house. With GOD, of course, all things are possible, but the current pResident rejects Him.
Yeah, weird.
I was looking at some youtube vids relating to this crisis and came over some old Zhirinovski rant in the Duma. Putin was laughing. Like heartily laughing.
Struck me immediately, because I don’t think I had seen that ever before. Islamists also seem to never laugh.
Don’t trust men who never laugh, or never drinks :P
Cheers.

btw. Great posts on this topic in general annalex. They are greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Obama, Kerry, and Hagel.
Curly, Larry, and Moe.
You might want to try that again in English....heh
Putin’s dossier on Obama includes his drug use, communist affiliations, school records, travel history, classmate interviews, past sexual relations, etc. All the info an ex-KGB operator needs to get things done.

Our problem is not the warriors its the leadership.
Our military may have awsome rocks but I do not consider it as a whole “rock” quality anymore.
Thank you for your service mine was in Nam so I have seen what bad leadership can do and how it can waste good rocks.... And.. our military leadership, in case you havent noticed, is taking an anti christian bent these days so Im not so sure how Gods blessing follows that. Its not our military anymore its Obamas
It's a done deal for Crimea. The next chunk is the rest of eastern Ukraine, and then finally, western Ukraine.
Crimea is all for it, that's for sure. Don't know about the other parts. Maybe Putin will settle for just Crimea for now.
