Blockbuster in the making. Son of God blasts off to major viewer numbers, Thursday night and Friday!!! Could be #1 movie this week. Terrific movie across the board. All Americans should see this wonderful, motivating, religious film!!! Son of God will do terrific across the entire world!!!
That’s why I’m where I am. REAL preacher/teachers are getting rare.
For me, the best depiction of the life of Christ has been and probably always will be “Jesus of Nazareth”.
What you accept is up to you but you need to see it for what it is.
“Thats not possible in a brick and mortar church.”
There is a time and a place to ask questions. If everyone butted into a sermon, the main points would be clouded.
Not really. Our interaction gets to the nitty gritty. It’s not for everyone. We are all different and seek what we need and know when we find it.
As I see you for what you are also. I’m 67 years old and don’t need you to tell me what’s the meaning of the Bible is. Or what’s “truly” Christian and what’s not. You’re the worst kind of gatekeeper who says, “you’re okay, but not good enough.”
This is the type of movie we need to support and encourage more of.
It’s a rare production out of Hollywood and overall a welcome event.
If you want to nit pik on technical issues, have at it, but you’re missing the overall value of the thing. The message will be highly publicized in the entire country.
And if enough people see it, we’ll have more.
I look forward to your attempt to drive people away from Noah. I’m sure a list of the sins of the director and cast would be a good start.
PS Just the title makes it worthy. It’s in the face of nonbelievers and gets right to the point.
You make your own choices but don't you need information to make an informed choice?
I get movies from Pure Flix. Hollywood? Not so much.
This is one of their movies. Trailer at the link.

Do you plan to divide when the gathering grows beyond the capacity of the homechurch? (I am pro-homechurch, just asking.)
Please explain to me how they could have included ALL the words in the Bible in a 2 hour movie? I saw it last evening and I can see it becoming a great medium to bring more people to Jesus. Is it the Word of God in total? Absolutely not. However, I believe it will lead some to finally explore God's written Word and establish a relationship with Jesus that they didn't have before. But then, I'm someone who sees possibility in discipleship rather than exclusion because something isn't "perfect". When someone is dehydrated you don't pour a gallon of water down their throat....you give them a little at a time. Getting a "non-believer" exposed to Jesus by seeing this movie is that drop/cup of water....it leads them to want more.
I truly believe there will be many brought to Jesus because of this "imperfect" movie/message!

If you want to make the title worthy try “THE Son of God”.
There is no mention in the movie that Jesus is the only way to salvation. “Son of God” leaves open the New Age philosophy that all roads leads to heaven.
At least you don’t have to sit through trashy, R-rated type previews of coming attractions.
Yesterday I was in a theatre for a 12:30 showing of Son of God. Evidently either school was out or the Christian schools brought the kids to see it. The previews or coming attractions were not appropriate and had to have left an impression on their minds. Kind of defeats the purpose of going in the first place.
No. We are a small gathering growing at God’s pace. The way God brings in people has been amazing. A new couple came and got to know us. They fit as if we’d always been family. Then their house burned and they lost a beloved pet. We rallied around them and they were very surprised at the support. God brought them to us just before this happened. He works in mysterious ways. Every Sunday is like a family reunion.
Check out Pure Flix movies. I have "What If". Love it.
I’m currently trying to disciple to one of my physical therapists who is unchurched. The other day I gave her a small daily devotional to read. I guess the “purists” on here would criticize me because I didn’t give her all the meat at once by giving her a Bible. However, I prefer the soft method of attraction rather than trying to shove it down her throat. Little by little God will convict her. As I said before, I believe this movie will lead many to Jesus.
“Every Sunday is like a family reunion.”
There is something to be said about that. I have attended my church for years and do not know many. (Living 30 miles from the church does not help) I go there to learn from an anointed pastor, then apply what I learn in ministries outside the church.
