After Democratic Senator Tom Harkin praised Cuba on several issues, Senator Marco Rubio gave what has been called by Miami Herald reporter Marc Caputo as the best oration of his career. Its passion and candor about the despicable socialist regimes of Cuba and Venezuela should put those politicians who can actually praise the oppressive nations to shame. The best lines from Rubios stemwinder, which is worth every minute: ◾Let me tell you what the Cubans are really good at, because they dont know how to run their economy, they dont know how to build, they dont know how to govern a people. What they are really good at is repression. ◾He cited a poll, More Americans want normal relations with Cuba. So do I a democratic and free Cuba. But you want us to reach out and develop friendly relationships with a serial violator of human rights, who supports whats going on in Venezuela and every other atrocity on the planet? On issue after issue, they are always on the side of the tyrants. Look it up. And this is who we should be opening up to? Why dont they change? Why doesnt the Cuban government change? Why doesnt the Venezuelan government change? ◾But heres the great news. I dont know if they get C-SPAN in Cuba. I bet you the government people do. I hope you see that in America, were a free society. Youre allowed to come on the floor and youre allowed to say and spread whatever you want. You think Cubas a paradise? You think its an example and a model that we should be following? Youre free to say that, here, in the press and anywhere you want. But were also free to come here and tell the truth. Were also free to come here and denounce the violations of human rights and brutality.
Thats just a sample of this awesome speech that hopefully will change the game and encourage more politicians to come out openly against the global scourge of socialism.
You did the right thing on this day.
Sincerely ....
Too bad he wants to give the socialist takers free access our southern borders.
Harkin. I’m not surprised. BTT
Eh. Too bad he can’t see that his BFF Schumer and the rest of his amnesty buddies want communism here and can get it with amnesty Just turning Texas blue at the use of a pen and a phone would do it
Blecch
Hey that’s great.
What did he actually do and attempt to do for this country in his seat of power?
Indeed, Jim. The cognitive dissonance is strong with that one.
Yep, I don’t care if he runs across the senator floor and clotheslines Harkin then stands on his corpse and chants USA USA ....he’s still a lying sack of crap amnesty whore ..who was the face of a bill that if signed into law would destroy the country ...FUMR
Actually, that would be The Big Lebowski.
Politicians need money to campaign. People who donate, want favors. Marco Rubio is known as completely inaccessible for favors of any kind He is an attorney, his wife is very Christian, and they have 4 or 5 children. They attend both Catholic and Christian churches. His wife does bible study classes.
I have seen speeches by Marco Rubio and can tell you that his insight is prophetic. He has that Reagan quality, of doing a job that he was destined by God to do.
Whatever he does, I'm sure it will be good, and he deserves our support. The Miami Herald has attacked him and tried to associate him with things that others have done to the point of ridiculous. I'm not Cuban, but I appreciate those that truly love God, fellow man, and country no matter where they are from.
“After Democratic Senator Tom Harkin praised Cuba on several issues”
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Harkin the jerkwad who also proclaimed nothing bad happened (torture, murder, etc.) in South Vietnam after Uncle Ho took over?
Last I checked Catholics are Christians. We were the 1st Christians. I just don’t get this moronic attitude that Catholics are not Christians.
Well said Jim. Rubio is still a two-faced coward.
Rubio is a one-issue wanker who is frequently misidentified as a conservative.
He hearts latinos who happen to be Cuban.
That’s about it. He’s got nothing else.
...he deserves our support.
***
I would not support anyone who advocates assisting illegals in the takeover of our country.
Yep, he cost himself a chance at the White House with that. What a fool, taken by McCain and that crud pucker Schumer.
No. He courted the TEA Party and they got him elected then, when he got to DC, the first thing he does is co-sponsor an amnesty bill with Schumer and the other Dems.....NO NO NO to Marco Rubio
!
Rubio might be for amnesty, but he is still a great senator. We do need a serious discussion on the issue, one that will help Conservatives with Hispanics.
