If all areas of medicine is a public service, whether you are a doctor or a nurse or whatever, then are we willing to force people to become doctors and nurses? Why not, we want to force bakers to bake certain kinds of cakes, so why not force people to become medical professionals!

About 10 years ago, I dated a doctor originally from Syria. He told me his medical education there was “free,” too. They also had extra malpractice protection there—a doctor could have four “kills” (four patients could die under his care due to negligence) before they would bother to look into anything. No one sued the government, of course.
He came here to get a correct medical education and actually practice where he could make some money.
