Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has opened up a sizable lead over State Senator Wendy Davis in the race for governor of Texas.
After what looks to be easy primary wins in March for the leading gubernatorial candidates, according to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll, Republican Abbott will start the general election race with an 11-point lead (47%-36%) over Democrat Davis.

Go Greg go!
Hmm. Even after not denouncing the bloviating, idiotic, Ted Nugent.
Excellent.
Sad but 47-36 is not soaring. 36% of this state are socialist infanticide proliferators.
Yes, I’m embarrassed that it’s this close.
The results will likely be different, though. There is no Barack Obama on the ballot, and if they see her as losing badly (which she is) they won’t bother to vote, making Greg’s win even bigger.
Your about page doesn’t list your state. If you live in Texas you don’t know much about how numerous abortion clinics have been shut down in this state in the past several years due to new laws passed.
Factor in Demofraud, and Abbott leads by 3 points.
I wouldn’t be surprised.
You’re in the Zone tonight. :^)
Wendy is self imploding even with the best efforts of the msm to prop her up.
It’s been great not having to endure endless TV commercials from either he or Davis. Abbott’s reputation precedes him and he really has done nothing to tarnish it. Quite frankly I am so tired of seeing Dewhurst and Cornyn on the screen with the same talking points - about the jobs they each created in Texas. Praying that Dewhurst and Cornyn don’t pull enough votes to make the runoff and we will be rid of them for a while.
The MSM keeps telling us that Texas is going Blue!
The lead is nice, and Davis is an idiot, but 8 months is a long long time.
Anyone wonder many abortion questions will the MSM ask him in the next months leading to the election?
>> Sad but 47-36 is not soaring.
Yeah it is. Texas is now a pussy state.
Eleven points isn’t enough. She should lose by 30.
What does that have to do with the fact that the poll says it is 47-36%? It should be more on the order of 80-10%.
