They think they are doing us a favor by making it impossible for us to contemplate a foreign war. We will be too weak to win, so we will not fight. They think they are saving lives and money.
I think that many misunderstand.
War is archaic. Viet Nam proved there will be no more war. The people decided that the end of war would produce the end of war. War is not the answer.
If there is no military there can be no excuse for war. /s
