They should be thankful it’s “civil” disobedience. Uncivil Disobedience could get...dicey.

Other officials think the low registration numbers are due to ignorance on behalf of gun owners ...

Clueless "other officials" alert!

They probably sold them in the inner cities. It is safer to get your weapon stollen than deal with the government incarcerating without due process in prison which gun registration an confiscation is.

It is not civil disobedience, it is jail or jail calculation.

From the main thread...

"I honestly thought from my own standpoint that the vast majority would register," said Sen. Tony Guglielmo, R-Stafford, the ranking GOP senator on the legislature's public safety committee. "If you pass laws that people have no respect for and they don't follow them, then you have a real problem."

Real problem? Indeed.

When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.

I believe there is a definition for this, Anarchy.

It appears that there is an arms race between the American people and their government.

If I were a Connecticut resident in this situation now, I believe that I’d have to just tell LE that “the particular weapon was sold at a gunshow - no receipt, I lost it”. Then just make sure they never find it.

All the state of Connecticut has to do is go to the background check list and start the 3:AM no-knock raids. It will be easier than the British marching on Concord. New Englanders just aren’t what they used to be.

At roughly 50,000 applications, officials estimate that as little as 15 percent of the covered semi-automatic rifles have actually been registered with the state.

Oh my. The lakes and rivers in Connecticut must really be clogged up with all those weapons lost in boating accidents..

I think the most salient questions are, what makes them think that? How do they know? On what information is their "estimate" based?

Needless to say, officials and some lawmakers are stunned

I am stunned as well. GOOD for the people of Connecticut! Officials and some lawmakers might want to refer to the 2nd Amendment.....

I won’t be obeying any illegal laws coming from this illegal administration, or any other illegal law coming from any administration.

A person or person only have as much power over you as you give them, and I have taken all my power back.
