Attorney General Eric Holder, long besieged by accusations of corruption and outright felonious behavior, has stated that he may step down in 2014 as the nations top alleged law enforcer.
In an article with the New Yorkers Jeffrey Toobin, Holder admitted that he intends to stay well into 2014, but in doing so, has once again fueled speculation that the Attorney General will be stepping down by years end. The Justice Department has worked to downplay the rumors and Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted, Actually, most he said was he planned to stay well into 14.
However, it seems that whether Holder is gone tomorrow or several months later, the fact remains that it appears that the scandal-ridden Attorney General is looking for the door- news that is sure to delight conservatives and others who favor officials abiding by the law.
Holder has been held in contempt of Congress for his role in the Fast and Furious scandal which left weapons in the hands of Mexican drug cartels and one border patrol agent, Brian Terry, dead. The contempt charge stems from Holders unwillingness to cooperate in the investigation before being cloaked in a flimsy pretense of executive privilege.
Holders Justice Department has been linked to corruption from the moment Holder entered the office. One of the first acts by the new Attorney General was to drop the case of two Black Panthers who intimidated white voters outside a voting station in Philadelphia in the 2008 presidential election. Holders Justice Department dropped the case during the sentencing phase.
It has been a rocky ride for Holder, but an even rockier ride for Americans who, perhaps naively, looked to the Attorney General to uphold the rule of law in America.
See #140. I think we’re talking about the same folks.
I bet Obama got wind of a pending SCOTUS retirement and told Holder he'll be first up for a nomination if he'll step down as AG to keep some of the heat off the dems in November.
Or Van Jones.
The confirmation hearings would be, uh, tempestuous. Worse than Clarence Thomas or Robert Bork.
I don’t know. You never can rely on the GOPe.
What’s Mumia up to these days?
-—A sign fur sure-—can you imagine the paper shredding that is going on? Not to mention hard drive torching? There might be enough honest folks left at DOJ to actually slow the cleanup which would be my guess as to why the jerkopff is hanging around.
Maybe an Arkanising is in his future....
“Give it time; I wager Obama is already making plans to bail the country after 2016 ends and he knows he has to go.”
It wouldn’t matter, he can’t hide forever.
Just ask Whitey Bulger, or bin laden.
The rumor I heard is that Holder wants to stay until after the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act this year.
It will be easier for the Dems to get a radical replacement confirmed in the Senate this year than it will be after the election, or in the runup to 2016.
Holder has been there a long time already. He may be tired and want to cash in, or they may need to change him out because of his baggage. Whatever the reason, indications are that the Senate will be less favorable to the Dems after the election - maybe even a real obstacle.
Holder should not be allowed to resign. He should be tried, convicted and sentenced for his felonious, treasonous conduct in relation to the Constitution.
Personally I believe he should be locked up and the key thrown away.
He should have faced impeachment because of his public, racist remarks made on the day after his confirmation, thereby confirming that Holder is a Black Power Nationalist, one who is a clear and present danger as a fascist:
In 2009, Holder claimed that though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial, we have always been and we I believe continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards.
Holder is a coward. Resigning before the hammer falls on him.
:
Obama would issue a blanket pardon to Holder before any trial could take place. The president has the absolute power of the pardon.
Only one two term president in the 20th or 21st century had only one Attorney General for both terms: Clinton with Janet Reno.
We are never rid of these people, it seems.
Who cares; the next one will be another 0bummer clone. That do you think H0lder is, anyway?
He’s aiming for SCOTUS
With his office doing the investigation and prosecution? Likely./s
Holder has had an interesting career.
“After graduating from law school, Holder joined the U.S. Justice Department’s new Public Integrity Section during an interval lasting from 1976 to 1988. During his time there, he assisted in the prosecution of Democratic Congressman John Jenrette for bribery discovered in the Abscam sting operation.
In 1988, Ronald Reagan appointed Holder to serve as a judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Holder stepped down from the bench in 1993 to accept an appointment as United States Attorney for the District of Columbia from President Bill Clinton. At the beginning of his tenure, he oversaw the conclusion of the corruption case against Democratic Congressman Dan Rostenkowski, part of the Congressional Post Office scandal. He was a U.S. Attorney until his elevation to Deputy Attorney General in 1997.”—Wikipedia
The president has the absolute power of the pardon.

Which also can be grounds for impeachment. Whats wrong, lost your edge?
Woe is me?
Its time for the GOP to attack, about 4 years past time.
