A 14-year-old girl who was gang raped in a western Sydney park was so traumatised that police had to wait a day before they could speak to her.
The girl was walking a short distance home from a friend’s house through Bill Colbourne Reserve, Doonside, when she was approached by a man of African appearance at 11pm on Saturday.

When I was 14, I babysat a lot and would easily be walking home sometimes after midnight. Of course, that was 40 years ago.

I was babysitting just about that same era, I was ALWAYS brought/walked home by the dad. Of course I did live in big, bad NYC, but it was a good neighborhood. OK, a mere 2 years later, at 16, I’d be out and about at that time. But @ 14, no.
I'm guessing it's the Australian version of the UK newspaper -- which makes it doubly interesting. Unless the perps really were from the US, and showed their passports and visas, shouldn't they be assumed to be African-Austalians? Unless Australian media does it to distinguish them from Aboriginal Australians/Indigenous Australians. It sounds more than a little weird.

In this case, the perps are said to be 6 Ns.
