Ex-Gen. David Petraeus says Hillary Clinton would ‘make a tremendous President’

Former Army Gen. David Petraeus , who has traditionally stayed away from political endorsements, appears to be eager to support a Hillary Clinton candidacy, a new book alleges.

“She’d make a tremendous President,” the former commander and CIA director reportedly says in the new book “HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton,” by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.

“Like a lot of great leaders, her most impressive qualities were most visible during tough times,” Petraeus adds.

The comments mark an interesting departure for Petraeus, who, when it comes to politics, has typically remained quiet.

The book, to be released Tuesday, alleges that the unlikely pair forged a friendship while Clinton was Secretary of State.

According to excerpts of “HRC,” obtained by ABC News, Clinton, soon after taking office, invited Petraeus to her Washington home to drink wine and discuss Middle East issues. The night was so enjoyable that she invited him over again the next night to continue their chat.

The generals already have there heads up the Clinton's fourth point of contact and their egos are expanding her @$$ even more. Patraus has more brains then Clark but their common sense has been lacking for years, especially when it comes to women.

Don't worry, we have plenty of flag officers (admirals & generals) and other senior officers over on this side, along with a ton of young, middle-aged and older junior, warrant and non-commissioned officers and enlisted men, whether active, reserve, retired or veterans.

Exactly what I am wondering. Sounds as if he was portraying himself in one light, while in the shadows, he's definitely “someone else.”

Officers eyeing elected offices in the last 20 years have almost always been political hacks, even while they were in the military. Unfortunately, there are far too few of them trustworthy enough (i.e., West) to take a chance on. The last Generals worth electing to any office were Schwarzkopf and Honore (Katrina).

I said from day one that Petraeus was a democrat. He was a perfumed prince as Col David Hackworth liked to call them. He never served in any type of combat and made it to 4 star rank. Then he was in command of the “surge” in Iraq. The closest this leftist Wesley Clark clone has got to combat was on the firing range in basic training. Now he comes out and does a Wesley Clark/Colin Bowell-movement and tells the world he’s always been a democrat. Who cares? He has always nauseated me.
