Violent crime was down 14% in Detroit last year with Murder down 7%.

However the new police chief restarted the stop and frisk policy ended by Chairman Young many years ago and he’s also encouraging people to arm themselves.

Its an interesting experiment to watch.

I lived in Manhattan late 80s-early 90s and the first year that they had 2,000 + murders was like watching a sporting event.

Every night in early December, the local TV channels were giving YTD body count, with the count down to 2,000 a top priority.

Maybe deblasio can crack that record in his first year.
