Fox News' Bill O'Reilly and President Barack Obama went back and forth for a tense 15 minutes Sunday afternoon, in a pre-Super Bowl interview that focused on the IRS, the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, and the rollout of the Affordable Care Act.

O'Reilly opened the interview by saying he wanted to get some things "on the record."

Oh good I missed it. I was hoping they might hyper each other into simultaneous coronaries, but I figured I could catch that on youtube later.

It’s a puzzle, how Obama knows Fox News’ take on every issue, when he always claims not to know anything about anything until somebody tells him about it.

O’Gasbag is banned in my house now after I saw him call good evil and vice versa a few weeks back.

Hi, 'pod.

What was his latest iteration of this particular thing? (He has been on probation or suspension in my house several times over time for the same.)

BOR brought it...as he said he would...

I watched the first five to ten minutes and had to switch channels.....OReilly may have asked several significant questions but he got no legitimate answers......and he knew that going in!

What a charade! Look, the bottom line is, you don't get an interview with the POS without first submitting the questions so as to allow the POS to carefully prepare his answers..........And you certainly don't have the opportunity to challenge the POS on the answers given....

This was nothing more than a publicity stunt by Oreilly and an escape by the white house to be able to claim that they grant interviews to FOX..........

What a frickin farce...........

Not getting answers because one does not ask follow up questions is playing it safe. of course dealing with Obama is like trying to nail jello to the wall. In fact, I think someone actually said that before.

Yeah, and BOR missed the logical follow-up on Benghazi...after establishing that then-SecDef Panetta described the Benghazi situation as a terrorist attack, O'Reilly should have asked where Barry was during the remainder of that evening...as every FReeper knows, Barry Zero was AWOL for 15 hours between his meeting with Panetta and General Dempsey, until he left for a fund-raiser in Nevada at 9 am the next morning. All O'Reilly had to do was ask for a timeline of the President's meetings/actions/phone calls between 5 pm on 12 September and 9 am the following day. Blown opportunity. I can almost guarantee that no "journalist" will ever again ask--or have the opportunity to ask--President Zero about where he was when our consulate was under attack. No reporter in the White House press corps has the balls to ask about that, and after his retirement, all interviews will be with the most fawning members of the press corps, and they will gladly avoid any mention of Benghazi. Guess we really won't know what happened until Reggie Love publishes his memoirs some day.

Yes, Barry is a much better lier than Bill Clinton. I could watch Clinton’s eyes and tell when he was lieing. It was alot. Barry always looks the same even when I know he is lieing. I think that even when he tells the truth it is only for convenience so there is no difference to him.

An arrogant [*] is what he is and if people didn’t come to that conclusion while watching that interview then nothing will

Which one?

It is a given that the media I’ll not do its job. In fact I guarantee you that the media will gang up on BOR for being a bully.

Good for B0R. I refused to watch the first airing of it because his previous interviews were so lame. Not giving his ratings the hit. I’ll see this one on the net.

BOR should have hit him with, “who ordered the stand-down order” right off the bat.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda, nobody gets to interview the POS without first submitting the questions that are going to be asked. And the only questions asked are those that are approved by the POS.......That's why you will never see a bulldog approach by the interviewer demanding clarification of the POS's statements..........

To this day, Obama still does not ‘own any of his troubles’.

The ‘Numerous Scandals’ are created by rightwingers, FoxNews, whatever.

All of them, he just learned the day before any scandal broke, and he had no idea how it happened or who in his admin was responsible.....

Valerie Jarrett won’t play the IRS game with O’Reilly..if BOR is smart, he probably follows Sean Hannity’s example and pays a little extra in income taxes and stays away from questionable investments, to minimize his problems during any audit (and I’m guessing he’s been audited several times since joining Fox).

Here’s how Zero will get even with O’Reilly...he’s currently going through a bitter divorce with his ex-wife, who was having an affair with a Long Island police detective. So far, all of the proceedings have been sealed, by order of the judge in the case. If Obama and the Dims have any dirt on O’Reilly, it will quickly make its way to his ex-wife’s divorce lawyer and the media. And of course, the source of the information will never be confirmed.

I messed up the time I guess. Now Fox is proving they can’t run a video server any better than the Gov’t can run a healthcare site. Wish they’d just put it on youtube where it would stream work a crap, so I can hear Obama lie and evade and be done with it.

He didn’t play it safe but but didn’t get any answers. Ended it safe.

So I guess it really was "O" to "O".

(Obama to O'Reilly)

“If he thought he would get to interview Obama again I’m sure he would not have pressed....”

The ONLY reason BOR got any interviews with O is because of Fox’s carrying the Super Bowl. If another network gets SB for the rest of O’s term, he won’t go near BOR.

More importantly, the SB’s for the remainder of O’s term are insignificant electorally. The only election that matters to/for O will be November ‘14. After that, it won’t matter and he won’t care. By SB in ‘15, the D’s will or will not have held the Senate and will or will not have taken the House.

O'Reilly did say that he thought the President's "heart was in the right place." So 0bama was not the only fool on the stage, obviously.

O'Reilly actually said Obama's heart "was in the right place"???

I liked some of O’Reilly’s questions, but would have liked it if he asked Obama if he thought he would have been reelected if he didn’t lie about Ocare.
