Just a few hours after news of Waxman's departure broke, a potential (and young) candidate has spoken up: Sandra Fluke.
"I'm flattered that I'm being discussed as a potential candidate," Fluke, 32, told KPCC, a California radio station. "A number of folks I respect very deeply have reached out today and encouraged me to run. I am strongly considering running."
Her name should ring a bell. Two years ago, in February, Fluke was barred from testifying at a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing about contraception. Chairman Darrell Issa said that because Fluke was not a member of the clergy, she could not appear on the ultimately all-male panel, which was supposed to discuss contraception in relation to religious freedom.
So House Democrats convened an unofficial hearing themselves. Fluke, then a third-year law student at Georgetown, spoke in support of the Affordable Care Act's requirement that insurance companies cover contraceptives like birth control.

So you think I have to agree with you and do what you "think" I should do.... I can't tell you how little I think of this kind of arrogance....
I'm of the firm belief that she should be ridiculed repeatedly and people constantly reminded as to just how big of a self centered, self serving moron she really is.
Killing me! But seriously folks, what's the difference between Henry Waxman's huge nostils and Sandra Flukes' vag*na? Answer: Nothing!
Henry Waxman, Sandra Fluke, and a farmer walk into a bar.
The bartender asks the farmer what you will have?
The farmer says what ever they're having because I really need it big.
What did Sandra Fluke say when she got her Fedgov condoms?
"My, how much you've grown, Nancy".
Yeah, I know the above is lame. Let's here from some witty people.
Good one!
From the ridiculous to the even more ridiculous.
Why wouldn’t she, after the media attention she got, from DNC convo to Rush? She could make a living as a lawyer but she’ll get wealthy serving in Congress...
His district is Hollywood, Studio City. I’d say she has a good chance.
Hailing from the great state of California, U.S. Condomwoman, Sandra Fluke.
Alex Wagner’s ear?
The sad thing is, nobody would have heard of her if Rush hadn’t made her a celebrity.
Waxman’s retiring.
Fluke ,under the aegis of Nancy Pelosi, was supposed to testify on religious values..
except she wasn't a member of any religious organization, and was disqualified from offering Congressional testimony.
SO , the Democrats set up a press meeting where Fluke ,in a prepared statement opined that she couldn't afford the $3,000.oo per year for birth control.
Therefore , the alledged 'war against women', 'war against birth control' began with a bogus press conference
under the aegis of Senator Pelosi .
Can she actually stop having sex long enough to run for office?
Because laying on your back to get ahead is democrat credo. Nasty godless animals.
Yeah, I have to agree. She was just another Democratic shill/plant when she went to testify that day. Limbaugh gave her a platform and 15 minutes of fame, however unintentionally.
Rush's mistake in attacking Fluke's sex life was that Fluke didn't discuss her sex life during her speech. Fluke discussed the outrageous stories of the contraceptive needs of four other women, and the negligence of an insurance committee in not providing oral contraceptives to another woman to treat a medical condition unrelated to contraception.
Rush said he was commenting on a news story about Fluke's speech; he hadn't listened to Fluke's speech - which he could have torn apart on its merits.
That wasn't the reason. The Democrats tried to substitute her after 4:00 p.m. on the day before the hearings, breaking the 48-hour notice rule and keeping the Republicans from conducting due diligence on her.
