Nobody noticed when he spoke in platitudes, clunky metaphors, used strawmen, outrageous exaggeration and was mostly void of facts.
On Tuesday he will once again divide the country with outrageous claims of bipartisanship, the rich versus the poor, and other distractions like global warming or sexual assaults or race slogs and completely gloss over the FACT he’s been the captain of this ship for FIVE YEARS.

Obama - the smartest black man to ever be elected to the presidency.
And the fifth best president ever:
- Ronald Reagan and 8 others tied for first
- 15 tied for second
- 18 others tied for third
- Jimmy Carter came in fourth
- Obama rated as fifth best

In his biography of Obama, “The Bridge,” David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker, quotes White House senior adviser and longtime Obama friend Valerie Jarrett:
“I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is. ... He knows how perceptive he is. He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has the ability — the extraordinary, uncanny ability — to take a thousand different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them, and I think that he has never really been challenged intellectually. ... So what I sensed in him was not just a restless spirit but somebody with such extraordinary talents that had to be really taxed in order for him to be happy. ...
He’s been bored to death his whole life. He’s just too talented to do what ordinary people do.”

so where did that $800 billion go? If there were no “shovel-ready projects”, what DID they spend it on?

It's all of a piece, though. Obots thought Obama smart because he didn't venture his opinions but sat there looking "thoughtful." Next to someone as impulsive as McCain, a candidate who knew to keep his mouth shut would likely appear more intelligent. The guy who can just sit there listening to everyone else's opinions can get built up into an intellectual giant by his admirers because, not venturing an opinion, he doesn't look foolish.
So now, we find out that Obama really didn't know that much and wasn't anywhere near as thoughtful as his fans thought he was. And now we hear that he didn't know about this and that -- IRS, Benghazi, etc. Maybe he was quiet and controlled back then because he really didn't know much.

I am not a fan of Lincoln as I think he was a protocommunist.
On the other hand, he really was smart. I still think Jefferson was the most brilliant and TR also. I think TR was the only person to win the Nobel Peace Prize and the Medal of Honor. I would not be surprised to learn that TR also won some literary awards.
BTW, TR actually earned his Nobel Prize.

I have a graduate degree, and I have worked construction where the mud was up to my thighs. I have known a wide variety of educated and non-educated people. People from the inner city, and hicks from the sticks. I know a guy who can barely write his name, but I saw him take two non working construction trash pumps and make one working one, at the jobsite. You find smart people everywhere. And you find dumb people everywhere. Forget IQ, I think that there are several marks of a smart person.
Smart people usually have a good sense of humor, and are able to tell a clever joke. Sometimes they are possessed with the ability to take a myriad of facts and condense the logic out of them. They usually have a keen wit and can turn a phrase that gets to the crux of an issue. A smart person is someone who knows how things work and can diagnose a problem quickly, or at least has a methodology for doing so. Smart people look at the resources they have and use them to the best purpose, not tie themselves to some 'perfect world' solution. There are many ways to be smart, unfortunately, Barack Obama does not posess any of these ways.

TR read a book every morning-maybe that is where he read Marx, since he was the start of the progressive movement.
There was one who could write with both hands at the same time and, I think, they said in Latin. Who it was I do not remember.

The fact that President Obama was so blindly ignorant about what it takes to get any construction project done in this country -- with the burdensome laws in place -- Oh such a callow pundit. Zero knows very well just how many bureaucrats these projects justify. It's a growth industry for Democrats. "Shovel ready" simply means that he's ready to shovel public money into Democrat pockets. He doesn't care if anything gets built.
