so where did that $800 billion go? If there were no “shovel-ready projects”, what DID they spend it on?
We had a project here in Louisville. A 1.1 miles extension of a four lane highway. It was estimated at 4.6 million and 6 months. It actually cost 57.4 million and took 26 months.
Most of it went to bail out states that had depleted their unemployment and pension funds. If you live in a state that wasn’t spendthrift, you got squat. It was once pointed out that, for the money spent on that fiasco, we should have around 150 Golden Gate bridges or 25 Hoover Dams.
Over $100,000.00 went to teach African men to wash their genitalia. $11 million went to buy clothes for job interviews. $148,000.00 went to one store in Detroit that provided clothes for just TWO people. Billions went to teach people to work in green energy fir jobs that never existed. Money was used to pay for wind mills built in China and Spain.
$800B is enough money to build 66 aircraft carriers. 66!
They built a fancy walk bridge over a reservoir here that is surrounded by multi-million dollar homes in the richest county in our state.
All those sign makers became rich beyond belief.
Most of it was granted to blue state governments, so as to maintain their public employee union payrolls.
Most of the rest ended up in the pockets of "green energy" cronies -- e.g., the Solyndra scam.
And some of it was just pissed away.
Moreover, understand that the $900 billion Porkulus expenditure was then repeated every fiscal year after 2010...with an inflation factor! Because it became part of the prior year budget and, via baseline budgeting, was increased every year. Porkulus is why we have annual trillion dollar deficits.
