Regarding your editorial "Censors on Campus" (Jan. 18): Writing from the epicenter of progressive thought, San Francisco, I would call attention to the parallels of fascist Nazi Germany to its war on its "one percent," namely its Jews, to the progressive war on the American one percent, namely the "rich."

I’d say on the timeline, we’re at 1935.
If I did not make it clear, I totally agree with you.
Sakic not. A Duns Scotus, a Too Subtle Doctor.
I think you are underestimating the corrosive effect this relentless attitude against the rich has on the lower class’s behavior. It is the same regarding narcissistic liberals’ attitudes toward conservative and Christian ideas.
When Gov. Cuomo can say without a big blow back (except for Fox News and the RC church) that pro-lifers, pro-second amendment, and “anti-Gay” - i.e. pro-traditional marriage folks are not welcome in NY state, it seems to me that we are close to a tipping point. In fact, it may be a legitimate reason to begin a case for secession from the USA. Now, I am not actually advocating secession, but it does pose the question - when segments of our population are not respected equally because of their political beliefs, what is the alternative? Think of Jefferson’s first sentences in the Declaration of Independence! When in the course of human events......., etc.
Liberals who insist on bullying tactics will eventually get a strong reaction. For the first time in my lifetime, public opinion polls are blaming big government for many of our problems and seeing it as a cause of bad outcomes and a danger to our wellbeing. Now, if we could transform their fear of big government into a fear of big-government politicians, i.e. Democrats, it might prove worthwhile.
Looks like you need to take a minute and study history. You will find that Kristallnacht is different event than the gas chambers.
There won’t be camps either. You just won’t get subsidies to pay the exorbitant prices for necessities. You will lose your livelihood like the Kulaks and you will be driven to penury. You’ll be given a “choice”. You know how progressives love “choice” so much. You will either submit to the system or be buried by it. As far as killing people for gleaning their own grain, that’s a real possibility too with the way police are these days. The progressive agenda is dovetailing nicely to usher in the new dark age. But it’s a new, new, hopey, changey dark age! Why aren’t we applauding the boy king? Spit.
This Is being done by the upper 1%. Who do you think owns the red newspapers. The Upper 1% gives disproportionately to the Democrats. Even The upper 1% that calls themselves Republicans is now helping the left juggernaut by forcing amnesty through. They voted for DeBlasio in NYC. Their tax free foundations are supporting the commie left as is their Ivy League schools. Their high power law firms are smashing our constitution. Why Not let them have it. As far as I am concerned if there really is a anti rich juggernaut coming along they should be on the receiving end since they are starting it. They are the ones responsible for big government. They Are the ones who are waging war on the tea party.I say lets join them. Until the border is secure and we have a fair media we should offer no defense to them. Let them stew in their own grease. That assumes this war on the rich really is real which I wonder too since they seem to be the ones perpetuatingit either through design or stupidity.
huh??? how am I channeling Neville???
Your are wasting your breath with sakic.
It is a bit of a pot stirrer who holds most on FR in utter contempt. It’s best to ignore it.
So, again, you stated that it is possible that our current government is leading us down a path that could result in the demise of the upper 1%, without understanding that they themselves are part of that same machine.
Whether left or right is in control, they both owe everything to this 1% and will fail without them. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
Don’t fall for rhetoric. The liberals and conservatives disagree on social issues, but they are both feeding from the same trough of cash.
They all want the status quo and ordinary citizens engaged in battle with each other so that we all keep our eyes away from what they are all doing to us.
My grandparents lost their store during Kristallnacht, but I eagerly await your lecture on the subject, so that I can learn the real truth.

The upper 1% as a matter of policy gives money almost equally to both teams in order to maintain some semblance of power. They are not willing to put all their influence in one basket.
Look into how Goldman Sachs contributes to campaigns. They are the king of the 1%.
It wouldn’t make any difference. You clearly would not have understood the point of it, anyway.
-PJ
I am sure George Soros, Peter Lewis andall of the magnates in Silocon Valley, Ho9llywood and Wall street will be surprised to hear that. Actually Goldman gave more to the Dem’s.
After looking over his past comments i must agree.
Like you, I will just ignore him/her from now on.
Thanks FRiend
Well, since you are so cavalier about the subject, you certainly should know they weren't gassed that night.
The interesting thing about the Nuremberg Laws was that after it passed, Jews were somewhat relieved, as if “the worst was over, at least now we now where we stand”. And for the next few years things settled down a bit......but there was a faction of Nazis that felt as the war was approaching, they needed to turn their attention back to the Jews, and were looking for a pretext.
Well, Voila! Von Rath is shot in Paris, and there you have it.
How? From what I see and have seen, I agree with him.
Had a feeling this was a personal matter for you given your initial reaction.
Certainly, the attack against the Jews was far more specific and ethnical than the class warfare involving wealth — a warfare I wouldn’t describe as “The New Kristallnacht”.
