New York's Governor Cuomo really stepped in it this weekend when discussing his views on the state of the GOP:
"Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves," he said. "Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that's who they are and they're the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that's not who New Yorkers are."
Cuomo can walk this statement back all he wants, but the fact is, when liberals speak off the cuff and let their guard down -- without the protection that comes from teleprompters and prepared speeches -- they speak their true beliefs. Does anyone doubt that Cuomo would prefer to govern New York (or this country) unencumbered and unimpeded by conservative dissent? Is there any doubt that most left-wingers dream of a utopian paradise without a conservative thorn in their collective sides?
Like it or not, this reeks of totalitarianism-in-training. I'm not one to pull analogies out of the air willy-nilly, especially regarding something as serious as the Holocaust and the German Reich, but this statement by Cuomo is about as odious and ominous as it gets.
Juden raus. Judenrein. Judenfrei. Das Juden Problem. The Jews had no place in Germany (or Europe or the world, for that matter), because that's not who the Germans were. They didn't share the same value system or culture or place in the hierarchy of man, as the Germans. Germany's problem was simply the Jews themselves, much as the problem Cuomo is referring to is the conservatives themselves. The Conservative Problem. Conservative Free. Cleansed of Conservatives. Conservatives Out!

Meanwhile, those looking for the goodies that De Blasio intends to hand out will flock to NY. Soon, the state will look like Detroit, hopelessly in debt.
This is why we are a great nation of individual states: The forefathers were wise to see that individual states should have the freedom to decide how they should treat their citizens, who are free to leave for another place if they so choose.
The only danger we have is the creeping feds taking over of rights reserved for the states. Once they have control, people have lost their freedom to move as their only choice would be the difficult task of moving out of the USA.
The South was very correct in fighting for the rights of States to preserve the fundamentals of the Constitution which limited the role of the federal govt to certain activities, preserving those unspecificed to the auspices of the states.
We need to continue this fight in order to preserve liberty.
BTW, my belief is that the citizens of states who allow those like Cuomo to destroy their wellbeing will ultimately rebel and throw out these types in order to regain their prosperity.
This will be fun to watch. NY folding like an accordion. . . .

Conservatives should sue the state of New York like the homosexuals sue the cake makers.
Didn’t really harm Obama when he berated those who “cling to their guns and religion”. Or when he talked about “spreading the wealth”.
This won’t hurt Cuomo either. Seems like nothing Democrats say will be held against them.
I'm going to be very interested to see how many conservatives actually do leave. If the crazy taxes haven't driven you out is this really going to? I suspect there with be lots of Hannity-esque posturing and little actual result.
The Cuomo family seems to have a history of hate speech to their fellow Americans. It is the problem with political families. Like the royals taking about their serf’s.
Unfortunately it isn’t realistic. People may be conservatives and they work for a company and that is where their job is.
Sure, sell house, move somewhere else...anyone seen new jobs lately other than gov’t ones???
It would be nice though so when things get beyond bad in NY, there is no one to blame...though it still will be Bush’s fault.

All the same hate the Nazis enjoyed without the entrapment's of any bad feelings.
But don't be the least bit fooled, they want to hate...they need to hate.
Hating you is something they must do because its the great elixir to assuage their guilt.
Now they have a legal and acceptable way to live their hate through political cleansing of all non Marxists, and they don't have to be concerned about being accused of ethnic cleansing like extermination of the Jews.
So its all Politically Correct to Hate in America now.

I love that word “choice”. Why not call it what it is? The “choice” is for a mother to take the life of her own child or allow them to be born.
