Everyone who visits Europe needs to visit Auschwitz. It was heart-wrenching. I stood at the entrance of one room and just cried until my priest came over and talked with me.
At that time I was walking with a cane and had not gone through a hip replacement. The room was filled with canes, crutches, prostheses, etc. from people who had been killed.
I visited Dachau. It was permeated with evil. I’ll never forget it...the crematoriums and the gas houses.....
