We use Facebook for many things, some of us use it for posting pictures of our food, others for posting the infamous selfie, and some of us to vent our frustrations with thegovernment and politics as a whole. No matter the reason you use Facebook, you expect to be able to post just about anything you want(aside from death threats to the President) without being hassled since our right to free speech is protected.
Well thats not the experience Blaine Cooper from Humboldt, AZ had. The 34 year old posted a rant on Facebook showing his frustration with the country and within 24 hours he was contacted by the police and FBI. On August 23, Officer Jason Kaufman of the Prescott Valley Police Department contacted Cooper and told him that he needed to come down to the station for questioning with the FBI. He complied and the interview, with federal agents present the whole time, lasted 45 minutes then Cooper was released after it was determined he wasnt a threat.
They had every Facebook post I had ever made in a huge file, along with all my wifes information, and parents information,
Cooper stated that complying with the request for an interview saved him from having his home raided by the Feds, and that by complying he was diffusing the situation, according to police who said his home may have been raided otherwise.

I agree with you 100%!
You cannot “unsay” something once it’s posted.
I use FB, but I never get into political discussions at all on there... too many of my relatives are lefties and would have heart attacks. I do enjoy sharing pics and stories with friends, old classmates, old co-workers, etc... and don't see a problem with that sort of activity.
On the other hand, the Feds would have no trouble tracking any of us down for posting in FreeRepublic if they wanted to... and the day may come when they do.
He was stupid to not have shown up without a lawyer.
The moment you demand your Constitutional rights is the time they will invade your home and trash it, along with your car and your life.
Well don’t say anything naughty on FB and you won’t have that problem. :)

Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
FBI, IRS, NSA: Jackbooted Thugs.
I saw that video last fall and I knew then Mr. Cooper was in for a hell of a ride, wait until he files his taxes this year. That is when the real intimidation and destruction of him will start. mccain is a true s.o.b. and will take his time getting his revenge for Mr. Cooper calling him out.
Anyway, keep up the good work but be a little more carefiul about what you link to.
How "Orwellian" the times we are living in...
Posting anything on Facebook is a bad idea.
Isn't it, though?
And half of the country is sitting back cheering it on...
Nice find/link, it was the same Blaine Cooper who called out McCain.
I hope Arizona learned its lesson on electing McCain.....
bingo
Actually, you can offer to speak with the FBI, but only if they allow you and your lawyer to record the conversation.
But, then you won’t speak with the FBI, because its agents do not allow recordings of interviews. They only allow agents to take notes of the interview, and those notes are the only authoritative record of what was said.
I’m wondering what you have to say on FB to make waves. I mean, my feed is EXPLOSIVE with anti-government rants, threats and egging-on.
Not a peep.
Not that it isn’t an important story, because it is, but didn’t this happen several months ago? I don’t think it’s new.
My last posting on FB was June 12, 2013. It read:
SINCE THIS REGIME IS SO F’NG INTERESTED IN WHAT I POST ON FACEBOOK, I WILL NO LONGER POST ANYTHING UNLESS AND UNTIL THEY STOP SPYING ON ME AND FREEDOM LOVING AMERICANS EVERYWHERE.
DEO VINDICE
No visits or contacts by law enforcement. Yet.
Posting rants on Facebook maybe not such a great idea....Posting on Facebook is not such a good idea. Unless you want to impress...somebody?
Same here.
I’m guessing it was more than just one “rant” that got this Marine a visit.
Even if it was, this isn’t going to slow me down. Eff ‘em...
