The elderly man accused of shooting a movie theater patron in Florida after an argument over text messaging told police that he fired because he "was in fear of being attacked."
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said at a news conference today that the victim, Chad Oulson, 43, was texting his young daughter's babysitter when an argument erupted with Reeves over texting during previews before the movie "Lone Survivor."

He did take action. He went to the theater management/staff and complained. When he returned, the dead a-hole badgered him for "tattling". Things escalated from there.
It's like when you are stuck in a traffic jam and some a-hole decides to jump traffic by speeding on the shoulder and cutting in front of a car, then gets all hissy because you hit your horn at him.
They know when they are being jerks but they can and do get violent when they are called out about it.
Is that YOUR meme.
Yea. Here’s my thought process.
Most cops are required to carry off duty.
Off-duty cop stops shooter.
Media doesn’t bother to mention this fact or buries.
Why?
I’m betting it’s because they don’t want to report that a guy with a guy STOPPED a nut who was shooting people. That would be a positive aspect of a gun story, verboten by presstitutes.
Don’t know, but that’s where the logic takes me.
That woman sounds like she suffers from hysteria.
I witnessed an interesting exchange that really put things into perspective concerning the character of SOME LEO. It was a big lotto night and I was in a rather long line in a convenience store. The clerk was obviously having some issues and the patience of the patrons was starting to erode. A guy walks in to the store (plain clothes), gets some things, looks at the line and approaches the next guy in line and says, “Bud, I need to go in front of you. I’m a cop.” The guy looks at him, looks at the line, looks back and says, “I think you should go to the end of the line and wait like the rest of us.” The cop pulled attitude and asked if he was getting smart (or maybe did he think that was smart... something about being smart). I couldn’t hear it all until it got a little louder. But here was the catch phrase that sent the officer packing.
“You want smart? Here’s smart. I need you to get pissed off, do something stupid, touch me or arrest me for not allowing you to cut in line. Then I need to sue you, this city, the police department and everyone else. Then I wouldn’t need to buy lottery tickets. This is a free country. So you go and do what you think you should do, tough guy.” Followed up by a tiny young lady, “...You should go to the end of the line, officer.”
He left the store all together. I almost asked to see his badge so I could get the number but didn’t want to escalate the tense situation. (I chickened out).
according to he version, this 71 year old had time to reach into his pants, grab his weapon, and point it at the victim. If there was a sucker punch coming as a follow on to the popcorn, it would have happened by the time he had a gun pointed at the guy...
For a troll, you are pretty lame. Can’t you do better than that?
Continue your conversation with your partner that you had while the house lights were up and see if the entire audience doesn't glare at you. Go on, try talking at normal voice during the previews and see if others don't think you are ruining their movie experience.
Isn't that already a law in NYC? Don't you need, like, a note from the doctor or something to buy popcorn at a movie theater there? Maybe that's only for the large buckets.
I go to about 0.2 movies per year for those reasons and others.
Baloney --
This is a retired cop with a good record and yet the judge is holding him without bond because the seriousness of the charge and the evidence of his guilt is substantial.
So then he could have changed his seat.
But apparently he has an issue with texting in a show and needed to prove that he was still an authority figure.
“My grandfather gassed your grandmother”.
Just for the record, what does that statement mean? Are you saying your grandfather was a Nazi or simply throwing around Nazi comments?
Same thing he said Forty years ago when he shot the neighbor Lady's dog.
There exists a liberal academic bias.
Stalinists lie. ALWAYS.
Even if the law professors are aware of the genuine facts in the Zimmerman case, they serve to push an agenda to repeal such laws (and disarm the general populace). Creating confusion among the public by deliberate distortion of facts serves that end.
The last movie hubby and I went to was National Treasure 2. Back in early ‘08. That was the last time we asked a set of grandparents to keep all the kids at once. Haven’t been to a movie theater since.
Too many kids now, too expensive and nearly zero worthwhile storylines.
So let me get this straight, the off duty officer who struggled with the shooter was the shooter's own son?
