Navy Cmdr. Valerie Overstreet wanted to start a family. But her job as a Navy pilot and the fact that she and her husband, also a naval officer, were stationed in different parts of the country made it complicated.
So she decided to take advantage of a fledgling Navy program that allowed her to take a year off and return to duty without risking her career or future commands.
Now, three years later, she's got a 2-year-old daughter and a 9-month old son, she's back at work at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and her promotion to captain has been confirmed....

LOL, too lazy to read the whole thing, and maybe it’s not a bad idea but she didn’t take one year off and end up with a 2 year old and a 9 month old.
Because if she can do that, she’s superwoman!
Service is sacrifice! This is bunk.
Some pigs are more equal than other pigs. Why a white male would serve in the military under these people is beyond me.
Why does anyone care about keeping them in?
So are they offering this same program to men?
The progressive left control not only the debate, but its parameters. They have thus declared that “we” somehow need women in the military... at any cost. No debate. No questions allowed.
The father and mother aren’t stationed together yet they want kids. And now they’re apart again.
You don’t get it - the kids are with the mother. The father is not considered necessary.
Yeeeaaaahhhh, I’m sure they do...
“Across the military services, leaders are experimenting with programs that will give valued officers and enlisted troops, men and women, the incentive to stay”
That’s a load.
You know they’re lying when you get an email with the words “Retention Board” in the subject and are told to get your fitness history and past five performance reports ready.
doubt guys can take advantage.
then again this ain’t the army anymore.
The father and mother arent stationed together yet they want kids. And now theyre apart again.

And, it appears, the mother and the children are not even together. She has returned to her job at the Naval Academy,so where are the little ones? In the care of strangers, I suspect.
Lincoln Military Housing offers 16 military communities in Annapolis, comprised of 336 homes servicing the United States Naval Academy.
The city is rich in history and heritage: George Washington and Thomas Jefferson once strolled the picturesque streets near Annapolis harbor, and, today, its downtown has been established as a National Historic District, housing some of the finest 17th and 18th Century buildings in the country.

The first three months of my being stationed at Ft. Lewis consisted of in-processing reservists to active duty for the First Gulf War. The next six months consisted of normal in/out processing with the addition of ridiculous numbers of pregnant females being rotated out of the AO of the First Gulf War. The last three months at Ft. Lewis consisted of out-processing reservists from the First Gulf War.
If military service females want to get equal treatment, then they need those long lasting birth control injections/IUD’s. Otherwise, it’s not really equal, is it? BTW, rumor had it that our sister Finance unit had females get busted for prostitution during 1GW. Pissed me off cuz there was a Filipina girl I had the hots for in that unit and I rotated out of GE 1 day prior to stop loss.
I am quite familiar with Annapolis, as it is the beautiful capital of my state, Maryland. Not sure why you sent me the info...
Not sure if under this same name but there are broadening opportunities that folks can compete for (i.e. congressional fellowship, academy instructor, foreign areas officer, etc).
