A month after a small plane crash in Hawaii, a surviving passenger shows GoPro footage and even a selfie taken during the ordeal.
Would you have done the same? Ferdinand Puentes was one of nine passengers in a 2002 Cessna Grand Caravan which suddenly suffered engine failure off Kalaupapa, Molokai in Hawaii last month. As he heard the engine fail and saw the plane heading for the water, one of his first instincts was to turn on his GoPro camera and film what might have been his own demise. As KHON-TV reports, Puentes knew the danger he was in, yet the decision to film as much as possible might perplex a few. He managed to get out of the plane alive and survived the crash. However, while he was floating on a seat cushion and wearing his life raft, he took a selfie.
Was the impulse to record just a natural reaction? After all, any bystander or news organization would have likely done the same thing. And these days everyone is using their phones to film just about everything they see. But wouldn't one's first instinct be to try to contact family and friends to say goodbye? Perhaps that did happen. The footage reflects a quite stunning lack of panic. The passengers behave in an orderly manner. There is no screaming or pushing. No one seems frantic at all. Loretta Fuddy, Hawaii's 65-year-old state director of health, died in the crash, despite managing to leave the plane. In watching Puentes talk to KHON-TV, though, it's evident that the footage brings back painful memories. Would everyone want to have such ready access to a reminder? Or would some prefer to forget? "You could have died," Puentes told KHON-TV. "There's so much variations that could have happened for the worse."
I lived in Hawaii for 3 1/2 years. I never thought the water was cold. But it may have felt that way to a 65 year old.
The guy who took the video said he felt weighted down because of his heavy clothing and his steel toed work shoes, so the captain gave him a flotation seat cushion too. I don't know why he didn't take off his shoes? But if Loretta Fuddy looked like she was in distress, seems like he or someone else would have offered her a seat cushion.
I imagine even someone 65 would have enjoyed swimming the waters of Hawaii and would be used to the water temp. I lived there a year myself a long time ago and do not recall the waters being cold. Interesting that no one mentioned the water being cold that day. I wonder what the temperature was.
It doesn't make sense to me how calm everyone was and then she just dies.
That would make sense given moochelle’s penchant for $600 tennis shoes.
Just went and looked at the photo. I don't know if it was bad reporting, but I bet this picture was taken earlier in her trip and released by the Health Department just to have something to give to the press. In the accident picture, Loretta Fuddy is looking in the direction of the camera and she is not wearing a life vest. Maybe she just hasn't been given one yet. It would be interesting to see the whole video.
I wish the guy who took the video would release all of it.
I didn't know there was a 74 year old woman on board. Makes it less likely that Fuddy was too old to survive, if a 74 year old woman survived. The man who swam to shore was in his 70s too.
I just read the post that said she had on the clothes you described in the plane video before the accident, so I guess I was wrong thinking that maybe it was an old picture.
The easiest way to do this is to even hint that the treasonous bastard in the white house is there in violation of The Constitution's "Natural Born Citizen" requirement. Lefties, such as yourself, must live in fear that one day congress or the SCOTUS will FINALLY fulfill their Constitutional duties, so they are attack dogs against anyone who might suggest that the kenyan has perpetrated an immense fraud. The old "Deny, Delay, Attack" strategy perfected by the impeached rapist, comrade Klinton (aka BJ Blythe).
Usually there is one who has been appointed, self or otherwise, to take the lead in the defense of the indefensible commie usurper. These trolls have all been low bred, uncouthed, ignorant SOBs, and you fit the mold completely, even reveling in this with your screen name. In the most recent past it was usually a guy with the name Non-Sensiqueer, but he seems to have become occupied with the radical gay rights thing, so now it is YOU. Non-Sensiqueer was probably a little better educated, being a third grade dropout, as opposed to YOUR first grade dropout status, so I'm guessing the dems are scraping the bottom of the barrel even to find trolls such as yourself to defend their kenyan born, commie usurper.
The eight other people on the plane, including the pilot, were rescued, but one “person remained in the fuselage of the plane,” Honolulu Fire Capt. Terry Seelig told KHON-TV. “It's always a different situation when you're not able to get everybody out.”
So the LA Times said that the Honolulu Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said one person remained in the fuselage. I wonder where Seelig got his information. We now know from the video that the 71 year old who swam to shore was correct and Fuddy was not caught in the plane.

Yet, on May 14, 2013, Chief Investigator of the Maricopa County Cold Case Posse Lt. Mike Zullo, pursuing a criminal investigation, filed an affidavit to the Supreme Court of Alabama declaring the long-form certificate as a 100 percent forgery, with testimony by multiple forensic experts. Eight months after that stunning revelation, Ms. Fuddy died.
How exactly did she die? This has yet to be explained. Witnesses saw her get out of the plane in fine shape.
Mr. Holstein described the scene as one where no one was panicking and everyone was helping one another. He said Ms. Fuddy was not in distress just before he left the scene and swam to shore. She was clinging to her deputy, Keith Yamamoto, who was also on that flight.
Mr. Yamamoto helped her to put her life jacket on and disembark. There have been no reports that she was bleeding, was in any kind of pain or crying out any more than the others. She was seen floating calmly along with the others, waiting for help.
In fact, Mr. Holstein said in an interview he was surprised to later hear she had died. She was doing fine out of the airplane, Mr. Holstein said, according to a report in the Star Advertiser. Her assistant was really watching her. He was taking care of her.
“I just read the post that said she had on the clothes you described in the plane video before the accident, so I guess I was wrong thinking that maybe it was an old picture.”
Anyone know where the video showing the passengers in the plane before the engine trouble is?
This video show Loretta in the plane wearing the same outfit as that given by the Dept. of Health.

It is strange that she doesn’t seem to be wearing the same thing in the water. The woman looking in the direction of the camera sure looks like her to me.
So she is evidently one of the passengers by the door of the plane. We can’t really see if she is in any distress, but since the guy who swam to shore said no one was in distress, I’m going to assume he is correct.
Look at this enlarged version of those by the plane. Appears to be Fuddy and the assistant holding her hand
If they were this close to the plane when it sank they may have been pulled under momentarily
Same shot at 138 or there bout
Have to disagree. Fuddy would appear to be the third person from the right, the obese one without a shirt or blouse or a floatation vest.
I agree now that I've seen all the pictures and the video.
If they were this close to the plane when it sank they may have been pulled under momentarily”
But none of the other passengers said that happened, not even her assistant. According to one of them, it took the plane a half hour to go down. And the guy that swam ashore said everyone was fine when he started his swim.
That's what I thought, but it's someone else. I hadn't seen the cabin video at the time. Fuddy is wearing the outfit (you can barely see a patch of it)that the Health Dept released as a photo taken moments before getting on the plane.
In the still photo outside the plane the only matching outfit is on the passenger by the airplane door.
So it's some woman that looks similar to Fuddy and Fuddy is in the background.
I meant to put you can barely see a patch of the outfit on the passenger by the plane door in the outside shot.
Yep, if I remember correctly, Andrew Brietbart’s toxicology report took about six weeks. An autopsy report without toxicology results is incomplete.
“The Truth About Toxicology Tests”
Facts about ‘real-life’ toxicology tests you won’t learn from watching television crime shows.
In real life, toxicology test results take much longer.
“Some of the tests take days, weeks, months,” says Alan Hall, MD, a board-certified toxicologist and consultant in Laramie, Wyo. The final toxicology report, he says, draws not only from multiple test results and confirmation of the results, but also on the clinical experience of the toxicologists and pathologists involved in the investigation, as well as field work.
Here is what toxicology tests include, why they take so long, and why they can be tricky. [excerpt]

So you’re saying that you can make out that outfit that Fuddy was wearing on the fourth person from the right in the photo (probably a still from the ABC video) posted by matt1234 at # 45? You must have either extremely sharp eyesight or great image resolution capabilities on your computer in order do that.
There are usually conflicting eyewitness reports. They are notoriously unreliable.(stress make them even worse) What proof, if any, do have of foul play? What, specifically, do you think happened?
