On GM vehicles you can pull the fuse on the ONSTAR mirror and disable the whole thing. At least you could.
If the data is being stored by FORD or GM..then the govt can get it. Probably already has it.

I think I’ll avoid buying cars with already installed GPS’s & just use one that I bought separately.

The first company that advertises they are NOT tracking consumers via GPS will see an increase in 20% of sales.

I don't know about GPS but BlondeStar ™ devices for women are an absolute necessity.

Don’t forget the black boxes. Federally required on ALL 2014 vehicles. By unconstitutional regulation, NOT by Constitutional legislation.

Buy a leftover 2013 model and keep it as long as you can.

So why is it gathered? Solely to deny warranty claims?

The GPS is fine, its the transmitter radioing info to Ford that’s the problem.

We Know Everyone Who Breaks The Law’ Thanks To Our GPS In Your Car
They been doing this the old fashioned way for decades on toll roads with tickets - like the NYS Thruway.
Back in '68 I raced down the Thruway at 90+ mph and when I got to my exit, the guy looked at my ticket and wanted to know how I got there so fast.
Told him I was USMC and just back from VN trying to get home. He nodded his head and asked me to please slow down.

“We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you’re doing it. We have GPS in your car, so we know what you’re doing. By the way, we don’t supply that data to anyone,” he told attendees.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ll bet the farm that if you don’t make your car payments to Ford Motor Credit that GPS info will be relayed to all repo trucks in your general vicinity.
"Because of the GPS units installed in Ford vehicles, Ford knows when its drivers are speeding, and where they are while they're doing it. "
So Ford knows when I'm driving 55mph in a 25 mph zone which is only half a mile?
Some day soon we will be getting tax bills from the government for the number of miles we have driven and how much “carbon pollution” we have emitted followed by a summons from local law enforcement for speeding violations. George Orwell could not have imagined how much the government is actually keeping track of us all. It is ironic that the touchstone of liberal thinking, Roe vs. Wade, was based on the assumption of constitutionally guaranteed right to privacy.
"Ford knows when its drivers are speeding, and where they are while they're doing it."
I've always found it amusing that people seem to ignore the fact that large for-profit corporations "spy" and share data on everything they do (google, facebook, credit card companies, etc. etc.), but then have a stroke when they find out that the government has a surveilance operation for national security purposes....
