All kinds of people and organizations, from media to scientists, have been pushing back against the idea, popular among the Rush Limbaugh set, that recent bitingly cold weather disproves global warming. Rather, they say, global warming actually causes this extreme weather, by making the polar air mass more unstable. That's now the official line of the White House, which is embarking on a bit of a media blitz to deny the notion that one cold snap means climate change is a lie. In a video released Wednesday, President Obama's science and technology advisor, Dr. John Holdren, made the two-minute case.
"The fact is that no single weather episode can either prove or disprove global climate change. Climate is the pattern of weather that we observe geographically, and over the seasons, and it's described in terms of averages, variations, and probabilities," Holdren soberly explained. To further make the point, according to BuzzFeed, the White House plans to dedicate one of its "We the Geeks" sessions to the polar vortex, throwing a team of scientists and experts at the issue, presumably to offer well-reasoned, scientific explanations.
But well-reasoned scientific explanations can only do so much in the face of conspiracy theories and insinuation. "In the middle of a hoax, they’re perpetrating a hoax, but they’re relying on their total dominance of the media to lie to you each and every day about climate change and global warming," Limbaugh said on Monday. Beat that, science.

In times past, I would have been in your camp. Lukewarm on the whole issue. However, I am old enough to remember the Coming Ice Age that was in vogue in the mid 70’s. When that was being written about, a list of solutions was pushed. These included, quit using fossil fuels, including coal and petroleum. Instead, use solar and wind instead for power generation. When they switched to Global Warming, imagine my surprise when the solutions were identical! The other red flag was that these wizards of smart gave us some dire predictions to watch out for, and not a single one has panned out. The poles still have ice, drought has not starved the planet and the hurricanes that were supposed to decimate the east coast have not materialized. When they can’t get it right in the near term, why should I trust that they have it right in the long term? And why should I gamble the worlds economies that they will.
Precisely why there are so many people who are shouting from the rooftops now, including me. We know one event doesn't prove anything, but now that the AlGores have bitten, they can't use it again without being hypocrites, if that bothers them.

The more they keep talking about warming.....the colder it gets. Pretty soon they will talk us into the next ice age!
Climategate was the beginning of the end of the AGW/CO2 fraud. The clingers are so invested in the political scam they can’t even come to terms with the obvious fraud. Scientists can’t even tell if any warming is not just naturally occurring.

In the 70s, the leftists blamed global cooling for the polar vortex. I don’t remember what we were supposed to do about it.
Interestingly, it appears that the anti-God leftists are arguing that the current temperature of the earth is precisely and exactly what it needed to be for optimum life, and that ANY deviation up or down is a cause for alarm.
Almost like someone DESIGNED the climate with us in mind.
Of course, I’m sure there is some evolutionary scheme that explains it. Maybe natural weather selection or something.
If I had to trade national Gay marriage for the appeal of Obamacare, I’d do it in an instant. Gay Marriage is part of a long moral decline for which there are many other things including easy divorce, the sexualization of culture, and the welfare state’s skew toward single parenthood. Gay marriage won’t be a sea change.
But Obamacare is actually destroying our economy. It is the stepping-stone to single-payer destruction of our health care system, and the empowering of a generation of politicians.
Frankly, if Gay marriage became nationwide by supreme court fiat, it would take an issue off the table that we never figured out how to fight effectively.
There you go rationalizing again. Maybe you should consult the Bible for a little perspective on the homosexualization of society. In biblical terms, the normalization of homosexual marriage is the final act of mankind’s rejection of God and the invitation of His judgement.

The common thread between the days of Noah and the days of Lot is sexual perversion and overall human depravity and a lackadaisical view of God and man’s descent into abomination.

Wrong — ALL climate change is 100 percent natural, 100 percent of the time. Global climate change is 100 percent natural, 100 percent of the time. The FACT is, AGW is entirely political in origin, and is entirely sustained through political activity by demagogues — and has absolutely zero science behind any of it. THAT has been proved EACH AND EVERY TIME we have been forced to fund research, and by that I mean, actual scientific research, not the agitprop that is sometimes passed off as if it is scientific.

There is no valid scientific basis for being “lukewarm” on the subject of Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW), also known as Climate Change. The entire AGW conjecture is based upon pseudo-scientific claims which the scientific principles and experimental evidence demonstrate to be respectively contrary to the fundamental laws of physics and contradicted by observations.
