According to The Huffington Post, Congressional Democrats released a study Thursday that demonstrated how Wal-Marts wages are so low that many of its workers must rely on food stamps and other government aid programs, costing taxpayers as much as $900,0000 at just one Wal-Mart Supercenter in Wisconsin.
The report, The Low-Wage Drag on Our Economy, was produced by Democrats with the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
Brrr, it's supposed to hit 22 degrees here in Mississippi tonight, that's more than cold enough for me. Stay safe and warm.
Coldest I've ever been in was -35 (before the wind chill factor) on a trip to Thule, Greenland a number of years ago.
The 2 block walk from the "hotel" to the chow hall about froze my face off and I was fully bundled in Muklucks, and a Parka suit.
All the trucks there were just left running 24/7 to make sure they didn't freeze up and could be used.
Ah, memories, aren't they great?
Silly Marxist Troll, capitalism is for grown ups.
I read through the whole thread (I always do) to get the "feel" of the Zottee.
I agree with Laz (and others) that this one was a paid Troll.
The "dodging and weaving" and the "innocence/don't quite understand what you're getting at" gives them away.
Their goal is to last as long as possible in the hopes of planting seeds of doubt/discontent/leftist propaganda into the minds of new/casual FR readers.
Unfortunately for them two things have happened over the years:
1. Jim put the kabosh on all the leftists coming here to have never-ending, bandwidth wasting "reasonable discussions with conservatives" (one of the best things Jim ever did IMHO).
2. FR now has a broad group of Troll watchers with long memories who all realize that the leftist Trolls are only interesting in disrupting/propagandizing, not discussing.
My Motto: "Find them, Expose them, and Zot them to Oblivion (and beyond)!"
Stay safe and warm.
Stay safe and warm!! It's only 30º here....swimsuit weather :)
I guess he/she/it is a "smoked trout" about now, eh?
Troll fishing ZOT!
Couldn’t agree more. I always like to read the whole of zot threads also, and find myself agitated to see trolls indulged, entertained with civil conversation, by our side.
Jane, I missed all the fun in real time, too.
TOL, it’s soo fun to see you fire up the lightening. I thought you would never get here! Whoo Hoo!
Happy New Year, you guys.
Rita
Right on all counts, Sir! Thanks.
It has gone down to -10.1°F, and I’m going to bed very soon.
There is an area heater in the bedroom.
Sleep well, and stay warm.
Stay warm...we're out by the pool down here in SE TX....NOT ;-)
I like to peruse the thread as well before posting the ZOT graphic, troll insults, and ridicule.
Knowing the trolls’ positions and opinions makes it easier for me to rip them to shreds.
I’m such a harmless old lady. [little rolly-eyed smiley] [tries to look innocent] [fails miserably]
Goodnight...sleep well.
Asserting that a large corporation like WalMart doesn't pay its employees well or offer good benefits is fair enough, but, beyond that, your rhetoric closely resembles the routine and clumsy propaganda of the anti-capitalist left, and your assertion that WalMart is "fobbing" the costs on to Mr. & Mrs. Taxpayer is without any factual basis that I'm aware of.
You seem to have absorbed (and embraced) a fair bit of Marxist propaganda at some point during the evolution of your political views, and I'm sure that such sentiments would meet a receptive audience over at a place like DU, but to try to foment such transparent collectivist nonsense on a conservative, pro-business forum like FR is naive at best, and intentionally disruptive at worst.
There are ample examples of actual corporate welfare for We the People to be furious about in this country, but the WalMart situation you cite is not one of them.
My apologies got posts mixed up!
You are correct, my error thanks!
What is a living wage?
Sigh
Walmart pays what the market dictates
They have the lowest turnover of entry level people because wages are competitive and chance for advancement is high
Many? How do you know that because liberals told you?
