According to The Huffington Post, Congressional Democrats released a study Thursday that demonstrated how Wal-Marts wages are so low that many of its workers must rely on food stamps and other government aid programs, costing taxpayers as much as $900,0000 at just one Wal-Mart Supercenter in Wisconsin.
The report, The Low-Wage Drag on Our Economy, was produced by Democrats with the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
No thanks. Buh bye.
“Maybe Wal-Mart should reply by showing statistics on how long people are at the minimum wage, how soon they get an increase, how long they are in entry level positions before having a chance to move up the ladder, etc.”
I’ve seen those, as well as “expose’ s” done by reporters acting as prospective employees. It’s a lot of ‘watch training video A’ and get a 10 cent raise...’watch training video B’ and get another 15-cent raise.
*sniff, sniff*
Well done.
There is something VERY disturbing about the Democrat pattern of attacking specific citizens, specific companies, and specific classes of people. It is evil and unAmerican.
Truth, freedom, first principles, limited government. In such a planet, if it is ever to exist again, the good guys will win in the arena of ideas.
I assume you meant to reply to steelhead_trout?
Slave catcher pays more than minimum wage, fortunately. I think it is a level 7 with a 2 dollar differential ;)
Oops; I did. Sorry, PB.
It seems like the WalMart employees have a CHOICE to work there or not. They are not much-abused. If they are so abused, they can go work elsewhere, and the free market will force changes to conditions or wages, if appropriate.
Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer are held up for alot of things, but those who work at WalMart are not “subsidized” by Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer.
/johnny had it corect. Business is to make a profit. If they were not making a profit, there would be no jobs at all.
Call in the team. We got us a live one.
For you to assume that I was assuming you were pro-abort means I need to pass the sign to you, I guess. I was thinking of Neil Boortz. What is really funny though is you won't see the irony of your post.
Walmart, like a lot of low margin companies, pay their employees the least they possibly can and still get and keep employees and they were doing this long before the permissive welfare policies of this administration. You might not like it but they seem to be doing this quite well.
The article is based on a democrat/union funded study that shows, miracle of miracles, that Walmart should unionize so the poor down trodden proletariat can get their "fair share" (even if it puts their company out of business). It's the Democrat way comrade.
Is there a bounty paid for successful captures? I may consider applying. :=)
Interestingly enough she landed a job within a month of losing her unemployment.
I’m very aware of where I am. I am also aware of the bed-wetting that happens when someone voices a different opinion. For all the fire and brimstone cast at Liberals and their plantation mindset, it’s makes us hypocrites to engage in it ourselves.
I get that debate is tough and requires a level of maturity that seems to be missing these days, but I am not afraid of it. If you believe in something so strongly, you should have no problem debating it with someone who disagrees. Shaming and personal attacks are the calling cards for the ignorant who are too stupid to understand their own beliefs, let alone defend or debate them.
Now on to Walmart, they are free to pay what wages they want. I worked retail for years when I was younger and dealing with the unwashed masses was motivation to get training and GET OUT. I didnt languish in retail world, complaining I wasn’t paid enough. I did better for myself and moved on.
Check the website you’re on. This is freerepublic.com. Perhaps you put your post here by mistake.
You seem to be a bit confused about the free market and how much “help” from government controls only makes things worse. And even more confused about how minimum wage jobs are a stepping stone for moving up in the world, not a place to stagnate and raise a family. Most of the participants of this forum have a more firm grasp of the topic. Watch and learn.
No, you posted back to me in a fashion that indicated you were talking about me .if you were not ..then apology accepted and BTW, I lit up Boortz and his faux libertarianims last week .and his buying of the liberal definition of social conservatives to boot ..
He’s an idiot on that topic .
