Men today are what feminism has always pined for and worked towardand the happy surprise is that men wouldn't want to go back either.
Camille Paglias perennial skewering of feminism is now so near tradition it deserves its own greeting card. This year, in her article entitled, Its a mans world and it always will be, Paglia argues that men have and always will be the shapers of society while women have and always will play only a supporting role. She even claims men are responsible for womens liberationassigning them near full credit because they invented labor-saving devices that liberated women from daily drudgery. While bestowing this honor, she makes no peep about the likes of Margaret Sanger or the well-known womens movement and their role in saving women from the daily drudgery of, say, unintended pregnancy. While neither is delightful, when wagering on which women needed more freedom fromunchecked pregnancy or manual dish cleaningmy money is on Sanger.
Paglia claims that feminism is set on stereotyping, belittling or demonizing men. Yet the research on men suggest their lives have improved immeasurably as a result of feminism. By all appearances, feminism has been the lead designer of the modern man who is not only the product of feminism but arguably the greatest beneficiary of it, too.
Womens ascent into the workplace has not diminished men but has freed up space in the family for a more involved fathera position more fulfilling than any at the office....

I stopped reading this screed when the author alleged (and I mean alleged!) that men were no longer interested in attractive women. They only appreciate intellectual, “engaged,” politically active women. What a farce!
The fact that you wrote that indicates to me you are not the kind of person who should be concerned. My ex craved control.
To wit: William Jefferson Clinton. LOL!
I confess I am reading the comments first before the article. If she honestly believes that, I have a bridge I could sell her. Heck I have a fire sale on beachfront property in Minnesota. Good tomorrow only.
Thanks for pointing that out. Game, set, match!
She does say that. Ugly women pretending times have changed. Nothing changes with men, lol!
Ho-hum, another female who knows what’s best for men, and that’s to be more like her. Self-serving, politically motivated psychobabble.
feminism convinced women its ok to enjoy free casual sex
and decades later, these same women count the number of people they’ve been with in the hundreds.
yea... that’s every guy’s dream... to have women be whores. just awesome
/sarc
sorry, i find it radically repulsive
Paglia was right.
Real women don’t pine over Nancy Boys like Obama or Pajama Boy.
And they don’t want to be men either.
Yep, that was indeed most enjoyable.
I'll have to check back to see whether Ms. Page responds directly to that stinging rebuke.
Camille would have to have assumed room temp for a couple of years to allow her IQ to drop to the sum of the entire Time staff.
Time is a joke.
Camille is a treasure.
Read RealityCHECK’s response to this woman! It is amazing! He takes her out and stomps on her!
Feminism, being a sub-division of political correctness, is as evil as the entirety of PC.
>> My wife wanted to be a man ...
Same here - mine wanted to be able to do all the cool stuff that all us guys did. And she did it in spite of her sex. She’s now 66, retired as a Boeing 747 captain two years ago, and plays every summer on a co-ed softball team.
Been with her 33 years; have loved every minute of it. Sorry it wasn’t the same with your marriage.
Agreed; Camille is a treasure.
Check out the sexual economics study by Roy Baumeister and Kathleen Vohs:
Sex as Female Resource for Social Exchange in Heterosexual Interactions.
Bottom line: Cheap sex for guys.(Some revolution, huh?)
I always said abortion was a man’s dream come true. Free sex, no consequences.
Interestingly, I understand Paglia and Limbaugh are something of friends.
Before focusing on reproductive rights, Page worked in the editorial departments of Glamour and Ms. magazines, as an assistant to Gloria Steinem, as executive director of the National Organization for Womens New York City Chapter, ran a campaign for a woman candidate for Governor of New York, and edited The Smart Girl’s Guide to College, the first in what now is a genre of Smart Girl guides.
When did morality die? Answer: The late 60’s and early 70’s when women “threw off their aprons,” sent their children to day care and burned their bras, then went out in the world free of their natural duties to raise and nurture a family while the man worked and protected all.
Of course, they had to adjust their attitude to hate men too. It came with the territory. From there it has become a downward spiral of morality.
We now have reached the point that (thanks to women) political correctness and fairness dictates that queers marry and adopt children and that this year children can simply select the sexual preference of the day and boys can take showers and use the bathroom with the girls if they wish and vice-verse.
There is a little ray of hope left and that is there are still some feminine women and masculine men left in the gene pool and hopefully will be the “stock” to restock the herd of endangered families.
