As various lawmakers push to repeal cuts to military pensions, Representative Paul Ryan (D-WI) continues to defend. the cuts. House leadership indicates no plans to take up any repeal. On December 27, Breitbart News reported that lawmakers from both parties had introduced legislation repealing Ryan's military pension cuts in part or in whole. But according to The Hill, there has been little progress toward reversing the cuts once Congress reconvenes in January.
If the majority of leadership shares Ryan's position, the push to reverse is moot because Ryan has made clear he sees "no choice between responsible reforms of military compensation" versus other reductions military leadership describes as "disproportionate cuts to military readiness and modernization."
Ryan has signaled a willingness to "reverse pension cuts for former service members retired for medical reasons." Beyond that, he is standing his ground.
If the House stands with him, the battle over military cuts will ultimately play out in November congressional elections, where those who supported the cuts will face challenges from candidates who oppose them.

I hope he understands THIS will be used against him next year....BY DEMOCRATS.
Ryan can go sit with McWuss, he’s a sellout. Power hungry Rino
Not at all. See post 4. It’s all well in hand.../s
You misunderstand. He IS a democrat.
by upping foreign aid to Somalia!
That always helps.
Paul drank the kool-aid hooking up with Romney and people associated with him.
He first effed up voting for TARP.
Gave him one more shot.
He’s been dead to me since this budget mess. And immigration. Will not support him again.
Even if he changes his mind. I won’t believe he hasn’t changed it because he believes it, it’s just what is politically expedient for him at the moment.
Burnt toast, with a fork stuck deep inside.
I agree with you. Although I hope Ryan does indeed work to “reverse pension cuts for former service members retired for medical reasons...”, I think there have to be SOME cuts on the military side. I am baffled by freepers’ hostility to proposed modest cuts in cost-of-living increases.
Right!
He is too stupid to be President.
“Fairest and easiest way to achieve belt tightening is across the board cuts. Then add spending selectively, giving military expense high priority.”
Bingo!
Paul Ryan seems to be having mental problems. Maybe like the late father of his running mate he has been “brainwashed”.
And the whole Republican leadership as well.
But we never hear that we are running out of money for welfare, Food Stamps, free medical care for illegals, NASA's muslim outreach program,
foreign aid to countries that hate us, or Michelle Obama's vacations.
The reaction is because nothing less needed is being cut at the same time. No wonder Ryan keeps winning in a Democrat district in liberal WI.
Well, this is lesser evil in action. Isn’t that what so many screamed for? Not as lesser as they thought it was.
The SYSTEM corrupts them faster than we can vote them out.
The RINOs are just doing their job which is to turn all America’s assets over to the globalist elites.
