What would a U.S.-China war look like?
The Week ^ | Eugene K. Chow

Posted on 01/01/2014 5:28:41 PM PST by Farnsworth

Imagine this: In the early morning, a barrage of more than 1,000 Chinese ballistic and cruise missiles bombard Taiwanese civilian and military targets.

As the U.S. Air Force stationed in Okinawa prepares to rush to the aid of its sworn ally, Chinese cyber attacks wreak havoc on America's air defense and targeting systems. A second volley of ballistic missiles detonates in space, destroying critical military satellites, while a third rains down on the base, damaging jets and leaving runways unusable.

Meanwhile, a U.S. carrier strike group led by the USS George Washington has launched from Japan and is steaming towards the Taiwan Strait. Without the advanced warning and additional data supplied by satellites, the group's missile defense systems are at a disadvantage against the Chinese "carrier killer" missiles that are streaking towards them. Defense systems do their best, but a few missiles still hit their mark, leaving the USS George Washington's flight deck unusable. America's awesome air and sea power has been sidelined.

It isn’t just command he’s hitting. Some of us will be starting down the barrel of involuntary sep in a couple of months.

Meanwhile he's flooding the ranks with his GLBT minions.

you are of course correct, that is a sword that does cut both ways. Thing is, would we do it? I’m sure the military infrastructure is hardened in China, they certainly have the money for it.

And they know it!

But, the wildcard is WHO’s President?

Hmmmm, lets see, if the Chinese attacked the US and either Palin, Cruz. West or Lee was President, China would be toast in 15 mins or less.

If Obama, Hildebeast, or Pelosi were President, the white flag would be flying over the Whitehouse in 5 mins and a video would be blamed for upsetting the Chinese. Meanwhile, 100 million Americans are dead from Chinese attacks and 100 divisions of Chinese troops are landing in LA.

.....or, something like the foregoing ......

Example is far fetched.

China isn’t going To bombard Taiwan in that way and if they were to, the US would not defend Taiwan.

The topic of China’s military threat is quite valid, but the example is rather anachronistic.

The Chinese would pop a couple of missiles with EMPs over the West Coast. Game over. They would come back in six months and, prolly without firing a shot, clean up what's left. Read about it.

Oh really how??

Drop PMS female soldiers on them? Send a faggot fighting force?

My feeling the greatest danger about China is America’s complacency that they (china) are weak and easily defeated.

China’s culture and history speaks otherwise

KMT has consolidated control in Taiwan and in the grand Quisling tradition have made it known to the ChiComs that they are subordinate to the PRC.

Taiwan surrender is a done deal under Ma and s unlikely to change.

OK, but that was then. China has done much to move into the 21st century.

That’s because Truman was too much of a wuss to use nukes on those 300,000 Chi-com fighters came across the Yalu.

Having the money to do it isn’t an issue, having the correct knowledge is much more important, and even if they have that, which is likely, the quality of their craftsmanship is always suspect, particularly when you take into account the consistent tendencies to cut corners and deliver an inferior product in order to maximize profits for the seller.

Well, we know one thing about how it would look. All the bombs would have “Made In China” labels on them.

My tendency is to think the quality would be much better for the military. I look at China’s moon rover as an example of their up and coming technology prowess....
