Well here’s a good reason to throw more money at the defense industries.

China is trying to assert themselves globally. So, it’s to be expected. Is conflict inevitable, yepper. Could it escalate?
Probably but I believe unlikely.

The US cannot be defeated and occupied.

Their space program is up and coming, but they have plenty of successful examples they have used to advance their technologies, along with outright intellectual theft, which is the Chinese way. Not to belittle their achievements.

Their ambitions and plentiful funds at this time are admirable, even though they are due to our excess and distraction. If their economy survives their own “bubbles” and continues to advance, we have nobody but ourselves to blame for falling behind.
