As a latina, more likely she’s at least nominally a Catholic. It would look really bad on her to decline the request.

I am not so foolish as to believe that Justice Sotomayor wil suddenly become the reincarnation of William Rehnquist, but this does give one pause to think.
There is a long held tradition of Supreme Court Justices turning tail on those who appointed them for ideological reasons. Something in that lifetime tenure frees the spirit of the judge to act more in line with the true inner man (or woman.)
To think that she would suddenly become an advocate for 2A rights or curtailing the bureaucratic abuses of the EPA would be a real stretch, but this makes one think that perhaps there is a thin glimmer of integrity in the self-described "wise Latina."

Not just the Exercise Clause rights, but also the RFRA law rights. But I would bet dollars to donuts that Sotomayor will end up voting against the religious petitioners. She’s just keeping up appearances here by granting the stay — and remember, if she had refused to grant the stay, a majority of the Justices could have granted one anyway. No Justice wants to be humiliated that way, and I’m betting she only did this to avoid just such a humiliation.

I wonder if Miley Cyrus got her all liquored up in Times Square and if she has no memory of signing the order. She may have thought she was signing a finding that there is a Constitutional right to twerk.

Even a broken clock is correct twice a day. Our awesome God works His wonders for man to behold. And, He works them using whomever He pleases. Mind boggling isn’t it?
