If they need unemployment benefits for that long, then they ought to apply for welfare. Full of doom and gloom on New Year’s Eve?
“If they need unemployment benefits for that long, then they ought to apply for welfare. Full of doom and gloom on New Years Eve?”
Welfare only pacifies the masses if they’ve never known anything else (such as the successive welfare generations in our cities). For the Americans that used to work worthwhile jobs to obtain a decent standard of living, welfare does little.
The Bolsheviks and Red Chinese (and especially the Khmer Rouge most recently) understood that they could only have their slave plantations when those who remembered (and discussed) memories of the “before-time” were around. Today those would be people from roughly 35 years of age and up (Obama’s initial success with young voters was no accident). The rest have to be silenced until they die off, and ObamaCare ensures they won’t linger long.
People taking those benefits are gaming the system rather than take a job they feel they're overqualified for. The problem is that they become less relevent and employable as that stretch of unemployment grows.
Cutting it back is a good thing. People who really need work will figure out that they should start at the bottom of the ladder with a company that promotes from within. They'll start demanding that invaders get out and stay out of the US and that tariffs protect our jobs. They'll get fed up with all of the restrictions to starting a small business.
What we have now is a two-tiered welfare system. There are the "haves" whose welfare is a larger check plus all of the freebees. There actually aren't that many of them, and the unemployment leeches aren't the type to start revolutions. A lot of them are too busy grocery shopping at Trader Joes.
Nope!...they need to hold the obama administration responsible for failed policies...but I wont hold my breath..
