In America today, there are close to 50 million people living in poverty and there are more than 100 million people that get money from the federal government every month. As the middle class disintegrates, poverty is climbing to unprecedented levels. Even though the stock market has been setting record high after record high, the amount of anger and frustration boiling just under the surface in our nation grows with each passing day.
And now extended unemployment benefits have been cut off for 1.3 million unemployed Americans, and it is being projected that a total of 5 million unemployed Americans will lose their benefits by the end of 2014. In addition, as I have written about previously, 47 million Americans recently had their food stamp benefits reduced. The conditions for a "perfect storm" are certainly being created. So how much longer will it be until we see all of this anger and frustration boil over in the streets of our major cities? Is America about to reach a breaking point?
If you think that the title of this article is "alarmist", you probably have not been paying attention to what has been happening over the past few weeks. For example, a 600 person brawl broke out at at movie theater in Jacksonville, Florida just the other day...
They know, however, in their heart of hearts that to keep on living that way, to treat the safety net as a hammock, is a drag on dignity that no amount of smiley faces can cover up.
Nope!...they need to hold the obama administration responsible for failed policies...but I wont hold my breath..
Way more than that.
Love me some Michael Rood...thank you!
I am so screwed.
I don't prep, but in my situation, with roommates -- just a thought experiment here -- it would be hard for them to miss.
Aw hell. Now I'm screwed, minus a year.
...so when the stars fall (nuclear attack); each of us will reduced to a 3/16” pile of white ash? Dust to dust, and all that...
Even "better" if he pulls that off without any obvious crisis. Oh wait... :(
(Of course, a crisis *is* obvious to anyone minimally awake, but because the country is essentially comatose, what difference does it make?)
A spirit of deep sleep has fallen upon the nation. It's like a perpetual carbohydrate coma induced from all the free candy and sweets.
Teh/Psa 69.
23. Let their table become a snare before them; and when they are at peace, let it be a trap:
24. Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins shake continually:
25. Pour out your indignation upon them, and let your wrathful anger take hold of them:
<< If the legitimate gun owners in CT and CA submit to registration, it is all over. It is just a matter of time. >>
Nonsense.
I can assure you, most Texans, shoot... most SOUTHERNERS, will never submit to gun registration, no matter WHAT the FEMA-trained “pastors” tells them about Romans 13.
For emergency responses, FEMA trains pastors

You need some help. Check it out: 30-06
Interesting article. Not sure if I buy all of it but I recently moved all investments to cash positions and was just today looking at what is needed in a proper go bag.
That, IMO, is closer to the truth. We're a ways from massive rebellion though, if ever.
Bttt
“I am so screwed.”
“...but in my situation, with roommates...”
You leave yourself open to all manner of interpretation, such as:
If you would dump the girl roommates, you would not be so screwed!
30-06 rounds where I am are $3.00 a pop and 22 rounds have been MIA for some time. Maybe you should consider a 17 cal seems to be plenty of that on the shelves. A gun with no ammo is just a club. Shot gun ammo in the light loads are plentiful and still cheap, and can be modified. YouTube has plenty of helpful videos. 223 ammo is now back on shelves, and a Ruger Mini 14 is a non threatening assault rifle.
....add while “working” (guaranteed),
free accounting paid by others,
free legal paid by others,
free transportation/fuel paid by the mile or free vehicle,
free “supplies” (also free at others expenses)......
free utilities
fixed time/hrs,
guaranteed employment even with contraction/deflation....
and when private business cannot pass these on due to disproportionate taxation and the economy deflating, they still must time intensive meet the above. Time is money.
And extremely, persistently, exhausted.
And smiling.
Preppers’ PING!!
Theres a Great Storm coming everyone is feeling it and its one of the reason everyone is on edge. Deep down the alarm bells are ring the nerves on on edge and the mind is unsettled.
Its your choice you can prep or you can stand around on a bridge waiting for FEMA to bring you a bottle of water, a MRE, a warm blanket and a kiss for your boo-boo and maybe you can even get your picture as you stand there on the national news.
Any one with half a brain can look around and see for themselves what is happening right before their eyes.
So listen to what the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV Proverbs 22:3
One of the things Selco covers in this article is the fact that many will not accept that a breakdown is occurring even as they watch it happening before their eyes. Why dont they realize it? Its caused by a condition called Normalcy Bias a mental state people enter when facing a disaster.
It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster occurring and its possible effects. This often results in situations where people fail to adequately prepare for a disaster, and on a larger scale, the failure of governments to include the populace in its disaster preparations. The assumption that is made in the case of the normalcy bias is that since a disaster never has occurred then it never will occur. It also results in the inability of people to cope with a disaster once it occurs. People with a normalcy bias have difficulties reacting to something they have not experienced before. People also tend to interpret warnings in the most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious situation.
A good article on Normalcy Bias is on our own ChocChipCookies Blog The Survival Mom:

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become their serf. Me I dont want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly dont want to have to kiss some gubberment third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I dont want some jack booted thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I dont want to be shut up in with a bunch of zombies and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

For those of you who havent started already its time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, cash (I myself have been putting up change for the past few years both for the metal content and the fact that using change to make what purchases you can will move you down the the list of possible marks during shtf), tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
As the LDS say When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.

There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger. Underestimation can be fatal.
