MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The runner-up in the Minneapolis mayoral election is recovering after being robbed and brutally beaten Thursday night at the Mall of America.
Mark Andrew, 63, was at a Starbucks inside the mall at around 7 p.m. Thursday when a man grabbed his phone off his table and ran off.
When Andrew went after him, he was tackled by two teenage girls – aged 18 and 17 — one of which began beating him with a billy club. During the attack, they told Andrew, “We’re going to kill you,” police say.
Andrew was left with a large gash on his head that required nine stitches. He has since been released from the hospital.

Starbucks CEO says guns not welcome in stores
Starbucks is becoming a gun-free zone.
After months of wrangling over the highly emotional issue, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz on Wednesday announced that guns are no longer permitted in Starbucks stores — or in Starbucks outdoor seating areas.

Former Hennepin County Commissioner Mark Andrew touts his eco-friendly projects and liberalism and has more campaign donations than any of his opponents in the crowded 35-candidate field for Minneapolis mayor.
The paper/link has a photo of one of the suspects but refuses to provide a description of Letajia Shapree Cutler-Cain or the others.
Must not have been relevant to the manhunt.
Starbucks CEO simply asked folks to stop using his stores as a stage for groups to gather and show off open carry.
he didn’t “ban” it.
The mayoral candidate should consider CCW, however.
I once heard that most Conservatives are Liberals who have been mugged.
