We have an Aussie. We will never get any other breed. They are awesome. Where are you located so you can find one nearby?

If I ever move to a house with some acreage (not likely at my age) I would love to have a Border Collie.

I have heard they need an exorbitant amount of things to occupy them and are not suited to people that cannot give them tons of activity and play?

Be careful what you say. I uttered those same words one day while discussing Aussies with another owner. Within the next 15 minutes we bought a chihuaua on a whim. LOL

What exactly constitutes an “Aussie”? Cattle dog or shepherd? They are two different dogs.

I guess I’m confused by what you mean about the breed “Aussie.” There are Australian Cattle Dogs AKA blue heeler and then there are Australian Shepherds. The first were bred in Australia from 1. Dalmatians,2. an extinct breed - kelpies I think, and 3. dingos. The later were bred in Texas and are born without a tail. I had an early version when I was a kid growing up down there.

It appears from the photo that what you have is an Australian Shepherd.

We have a heeler/border collie mix. A true heeler has a white spot on top of his head and a white tip on his full length tail. They have pricked ears.
