We are in the middle of a major ice storm. Trees down everywhere. Every 30 minutes or so we can hear a tree crashing to the ground. Earlier today, one fell on our storage tent. Some frame damage to be sure.

Daughter’s for dinner——lots of family and friends.

Noise, chaos, confusion, video games, overeating and,on my part, wishing it was over.

After arising early, without the alarm, stumble around for a while.

Make a cup of joe, and it is either a bowl of cereal, or a serving of nuked sausage hash and a store-bought pair of hard-boiled eggs. During this meal, I make sure to take all 10 of my V.A.-prescribed pharmaceuticals, all metabolic.

Run around on my laptop, see what the head-queer-in-charge is doing, and make another cup of joe.

Call she-who-lives-across-town. (Oh? Family’s in town? Ok, then. We’ll get together over the weekend.)

Something for lunch.

Watch a few dvr’d movies noir, till dinner.

For Supper, poke holes in a Hormel turkey something flat, put a can or two of veggies, throw that in the ‘nuker’, meanwhile making a cup of joe. Open a can of Cranberry sauce, a biscuit on the plate, and its done. Another cup, and one of those nice little boxed fruit pies.

Watch a movie or two more, Clean up and close the kitchen.

Another Christmas I get to see, and much more peaceful than all that time around Christmas in 1972, with a B-52 taking off every 20 seconds non-stop, and the reports of those I’ve known during that time, become, also during that time, I know, no more.

And all to defeat Communism, or so I thought.

They are liberals who will post something vile about Sarah Palin on Facebook and when challenged on it "claim" they don't discuss politics. Like I said, some of the stupidest people on the planet.

Oh, and, one still believes OJ was innocent. :-)

Nothing different than any other Tuesday or Wednesday...might start some broccoli or hot pepper plants. Otherwise, meh.

God bless FReeper Nation!

In NM we do the traditional Christmas Eve dishes: posole (it’s already in the crock pot), tortillas, taquitas, biscochitos, tamales, queso....even if it’s just us this year!

Thanks for asking and Merry Christmas to all FReepers!

I forgot to mention Christmas Day. We are having smoked pheasant, quail and duck from Burgers’ Smokehouse.

I have to say they are a great company...they messed up my order by sending way too much bacon and forgot the rib sampler I had ordered. When I let them know and offered to return the extra bacon (frozen) they told me to keep it and they would overnight the rib order! Great service and the apple smoked bacon is to die for.

Merry Christmas!

We had the ice on Saturday/Sunday and lost power almost 48 hours ago. Don’t expect to get it back until after Christmas, but we have wood heat and a generator. Thankfully, Monday night was above freezing and the ice on all the trees melted for us, but not for the folks down in the valley.

Christmas Eve—eat Sister Mineral’s cooking and hope to survive the experience.

Christmas Day—visit Fraternal and Mrs. Fraternal Mineral in Shreveport. Mrs. Fraternal Mineral is pregnant with Baby Mineral and there will much discussion of that.

Not a big fan of how Christmas has become today. Also, we never get to “do” Christmas as I would like.

Going to the cemetery on Christmas Morning to take flowers to my husband’s grave. He died 4 months ago.

I was actually caught by surprise that Christmas fell this year on December 25th, and as a result failed to make plans.

Tending bar at the Tombstone American Legion; we have a members only Christmas Party and all the executive board members work the bar, it’s our way of thanking the vets each year. Oh yeah, it’s an open bar...

We’re always looking for new members!

Getting up at 5am, heading to the rink for 1.5hrs of Hockey with some buddies. Then 1/2 day of work. Can’t go to see family in Chicago since I have to work, so the family & I will probably go back to the rink for a public skate in the afternoon. then out for dinner & drinks, home early, to settle down & watch Christmas Vacation, it’s our family tradition.
