NBC News boss Deborah Turness is spending the last few days of the year eyeing cuts — moves that could include axing some senior on-air talent, The Post has learned.
Turness, brought on in August to shake up the moribund news division — where “Meet the Press” and “Today” had stumbled — is in the midst of a host of end-of -year buyouts and cost reductions, sources said.
The current moves are not the first time Turness has irked journalists under her command.

Actually, there are plenty of alternative views presented here in the forum. Almost all the important stuff from the networks, the NY Slimes, and the ComPost, as well as foreign news sources.
Sure, opposition stuff is put here to criticize, but coming to FR gives you a pretty good idea what the opposition is up to. I find it allows me to know what the enemy is up to.
I was referring to NBC News and how to try and save it, not that they want to.

It is truly astonishing how clueless the MSM management is. It's maybe been beaten into their heads, finally, that their news lean left, but they think they can fix that with Scarborough? Scarborough might have been slightly right of center two decades ago when he had some conservative influence around him in the House, but after 20 years of Beltway indoctrination, he's as loony left as they are.

That would account for pretty boy David Gregory ... if she doesn't want anything resembling hard hitting news she should air an infomercial in the time slot - sell baby wipes or something...
If it has to be a liberal - and we all know NBC - I still suggest Jon Stewart... NBC needs one intelligent person at the network - you know - diversity. They've got 'stupid liberal' covered.

Liberal networks like NBC are currently having a problem satisfying their liberal viewers.
The two centers of Leftist thought at the moment are the universities and the White House, where in both cases the most passionate issue of the day is attacking Israel.
The universities are boycotting Israel’s universities, boycotting its products, virulently attacking Israel’s need to defend itself, and also bashing Jewish-American institutions such as university Hillel groups.
Meanwhile, on the White House front, the Obama Administration has embraced Israel’s most dangerous enemy, Iran, and is focusing on stirring up a European boycott against Israel.
How can the liberal networks show solidarity with the Left except by turning themselves into anti-Semitic propaganda organs resembling those of Nazi Germany and anti-Semitic skinhead groups? Even Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson know they can’t even use words like ‘’Hymietown’’ without getting into trouble.
So the liberal networks will continue to lose their liberal viewership, as the Left continues to move further toward areas not fit for civilized discussion.
Maybe their liberal viewers are getting bored of the leftist echo chamber? Maybe they have noticed that the news they see reported doesn’t square with real life?

Jenna Wolfe on weekend Today inserts herself into every story as if she is the story. Does GE still own NBC....they act like it; totally in bed with the agenda. Russert was OK on MTP, but no more than OK, as I believe he was the first of a parade of political operatives in anchor chairs.
